Same happened to me - i’ve Had a week of frustration and now it seems Apple have decided to wash their hands of the issue.
When I went to the third party retailer (on advice of Apple support) they just shrugged and made comments about having another phone with this issue. I’ve been told to pay for a repair at £149....
Not sure what else I can do!0 -
First rule of buying a smart phone - don't by an iPhone.
Second rule of buying a smart phone - don't ever update the iPhone0 -

But you are still left with the inescapable fact that my iPhone 7 updated without any problems at all but when you updated your iPhone 7 you got problems So therefore there must be something different about your iPhone 7 when compared to mine.
Given Apples level of lock down. Is it not ironic you are questioning what the user has done to the phone to cause this issue?0 -

I’ve no issues with my iPhone 7. Is updating to beta 12 an option?
Sorry, this gets touted out all the time.
Theres many many examples of the 'legendary' Apple CS falling far short of that.0 -
Tekneil, have you had any luck escalating? I contacted my Apple shop again and they seemed frustrated as more cases of this keep appearing......0

No I'm stating a fact from my own personal experience. That fact is that my iPhone 7 updated without any problems at all. Therefore if someone else's iPhone 7 gets problems when updated there must be something different about their iPhone 7 when compared to mine.
@ OP: Have you tried updating or resetting through iTunes on a Mac or Windows computer? All that's necessary is to download and install iTunes and then connect the iPhone to the computer using the Lightning to USB lead. Ensure the computer is connected to wifi.0 -

Something under Apples control. So its moot what is or isnt 'different'.0 -
@anthorn - been through all resets and reformatted via laptop iTunes. Apple service pointed me towards the macrumours article and said that they!!!8217;ve had a few other phones with the issue. They were waiting for a repair program to rolled out.
I agree that it may well be a hardware issue but they said that it!!!8217;s the update that!!!8217;s !!!8220;bricking!!!8221; the mic on some phones, and iPhone 7 specifically. There are just too many commonalities in cases coming forward for Apple just to bury their heads in the sand.0
