Great work on PA! You're on a roll with these surveys! I haven't even logged in today - been up to my eyeballs in work so I've barely had time to look up from my screen. In fact, I'm currently sitting in the dark typing this as the last thing I do before shutting down for the night.

I'm supposed to finish about 3 on a Friday but there was no chance of that this week.

My husband is a star - i mean he's not perfect, but who is :) He's a really hard worker and never turns down extra jobs unless it's really not worth his while. We both work hard - I get paid well for what I do but don't get paid extra for any extra. He earns less but has huge potential to earn more through overtime/ extra jobs as he's on an hourly rate. It works well for us.

Right, that's it! I'm shutting down (although will likely be back on my phone later - just can't keep away!). Work, be gone!!

Thanks DIA, that's lovely of you to say. We are a good team and I'm lucky that I can just up sticks and travel for work without too much hassle - he just grabs the reins, deals with the kids etc.

He has his moments, but I've got a good one.

Busy day of running the kids from activity to activity! One more to go then I'm done :) quiet night tonight hopefully.

We have to invest in some TKD kit for both boys - a full sparring kit for one, a license and suit for the other...to the tune of £220!

Thankfully the sparring kit will last into teenage years so it's a reasonable investment to make now. Just as well I've been building up that savings account! Payable on Tuesday wheb all the kit arrives so I've a few days to sob and get over it.

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

  • Ooh the kit is expensive. Never mind it is a necessity and you have saved for it. You'll be able to build that back again in time.

    Have a good day

It is pretty painful, but it means that my son has no excuse now. We have held off for about 6 months to make sure he's committed to it. We have upped his classes to 2 per week and are investing in the kit so I don't want to hear "I don't want to go to tkd anymore". That will not go down well. He does love it and has been doing it for 2 years now so I feel confident that we will get time out of the kit.

They were talking about competitions today and the kit is essential to compete so it's an investment in him his sport and his health/ activeness.

Today has been busy and pretty non stop - I'm just giving the kids some supper then it'll be straight to bed for them and into jammies for me for some ER indulgence.

I know what you mean about buying things for hobbies but it definitely sounds like DS is committed and the bonus is it will last him a few years and you've also been saving up for it. Some good forward planning there :T Hope you've all had a lovely day. xx

Yes, I really want to continue to encourage it. He gets a lot of it, beyond just the physical sport.

In other news, my husband did a smallish job yesterday and handed me £100 for the savings account this morning! Will wait until he gets paid next week and go to the bank with both.

Had a fairly lazy morning with the kids, a long shower and sat for a while using my skincare lotions and potions. Normally only have time to slap on the essentials but was nice to have peace to do a proper full overhaul today.

After lunch, I'll head to Aldi then take the kids out for a walk. Sun is shining so hope that lasts. Even if it doesn't, we'll be in a forest anyway so I'll be happy as long as it doesn't tip it down.

Money into sealed pot yesterday: £3
    Days until pay day: 17
