Junk mail often gets deleted automatically after a month.Tope_Con_Hilo wrote: »My marketing preferences (which is what I am presuming you're talking about) says they can e-mail me but not send letters via post.
I have not had any e-mails specifying price increases, I have been through my junk e-mails too.0 -
I called BT after receiving an email stating my broadband would be increasing. They offered me an "upgrade" which was going to cost less than what I was paying for my existing package pre-price increase which didn't make sense. So, I asked the agent why I am already paying more for my subscription than I would for their "top" broadband product which didn't make sense even after the initial promo rate was over the better product was cheaper than my one.
Told the agent I will just cancel and ring back up. She said even if you cancel they would still treat you as an existing customer to stop people doing that so I said OK then I'll just find a new deal and cancel and she immediately knocked about 20% off my existing price albeit requiring me to sign up for another 12 months as I was out of contract but they can still reduce their prices if you call them.0 -
Hi,
Just called for second time, same price as before 40.99, but this time they offered £17 for Max 4K UHD package and £23.99 for BT infinity 1 and land line. Is it just a case of ringing until I get the right person who can get the me the deal at £38 ish or am I unlikely to get any lower than the 40.99 currently offered.
Cheers

I called and cancelled.
My plan was to cancel BT and rejoin the next day (with cashback, gift card and cheaper base price) but the rep on the phone confused me, she was saying something about fees after 30 days if I dont switch to another provider? eh?
Probably meant the reconnection fees .
A new customer offer would be someone that has not been with BT for 12 months .
Nope. a year ago when my contract with BT ran down i switched to Vodafone, it was really crap so i cancelled in the 30 day period and joined BT as a new customer and got all the offers/cashback.
Also theres plenty of people saying you can outright cancel with BT and be a new customer from day 1, where is your info from?0 -

I think considering it's Max 4K then I would accept the £17, but I would probably push to get the Broadband and Line Rental down to £21.99.
Maybe ring back again and say your mate is also with BT and has been offered £21.99 and if they are able to offer you that too, you will stay with them?0 -

Info from BT CS only last week .
From BT Community forum
From BT adverts .
From multiple posts on this forum .
But some users find it does not apply .
It may not apply if you cease and change number .
Some offers may be open to new and existing customers .
It is a minefield but the general ISP definition is 12 months see the web .
Never seen this plenty of people <Also theres plenty of people saying you can outright cancel with BT and be a new customer from day 1,>0 -
So, in typical BT fashion they messed up first bill of my new contract. They charged me £47.49 instead of the agreed £38.99.......they had charged me £5 for kids and £3.50 for BT Sport. They said they would have to listen to calls and case manager phoned me back today and apologised and they'd got it wrong!!
So i tried to use it to my advantage and told her i was getting pretty fed up with constant mistakes. Mentioned a lot of people had got fibre and line rental for £21.99 and could they do anything and reduce to £21.99 from £23.99. She said it would be hard as i'd just agreed new contract but offered to put £30 credit into my account.....this nearly brings it down to the £21.99 over the 18 months.
Moral of the story........watch your bills like a hawk with these characters and if they do mess up try and use it to your advantage if you can!!0 -
luckily my first bill has come out correct

haha...luckily mine wasn't:cool:
seriously, my box has an error code now when i'm trying to get BT Sport....i'm starting to lose the will. Sadly, in my opinion the only good thing about BT, for me anyway, is the prices. It's just that much cheaper than the competition for what you get i'm kinda forced to put up with their shocking CS.0 -
Box Error code just google it or BT community forums . Some are simple fix others not so .0
