I left SSE for BT in November & never will I sign up with them again unless they move from Daisy Wholesale who supplies SSE with their broadband.

Speed was throttled terribly every evening without fail. Streaming was impossible for me anyway.

I received a refund for the time I was with them & allowed to leave my contract early as an apology.

SSE *shudder* terrible had same problem

I also mentioned Now TV BB at £20 pm .

I looked at Now TV Broadband. The reviews put me off:

    https://www.broadband.co.uk/broadband/providers/now-broadband/reviews/

    https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/nowtv.com

But it may be a good bargaining chip. :rotfl:

To confirm my price rise and used that as well i have been notified .

I get "We’re sorry, we can only show pricing for Broadband customers currently.".

It pays to haggle! Actually I didn't really haggle at all; just said I wasn't happy about the amount I was paying and was thinking of leaving.

I was paying £52.99 per month for landline, broadband and weekend calls plus £3.50 for BT Sport. This was due to increase to £55.49 and £6 respectively from September but thanks to the advice on this website, I called them and now have a new contract for BT Plus (faster broadband) for £39.99 and BT Sport for £3.

I have therefore saved £162 pa on what I'm paying now and £222 on what I would have been paying from September. The ridiculous thing is, if BT hadn't announced a price rise from September, I'd have just blindly carried on with my existing contract! As stated on this site, the number to call is 0800 783 1401. Thank you MSE!

And TalkTalk guarantee not to increase prices during the minimum contract period.

My Mother was with TalkTalk. IIRC they include extras for free, such as call barring.

A Sky broadband deal via TopCashback is looking quite good: 18 months at £25 a month for unlimited fibre broadband; £85 cachback from TopCashback; £75 prepaid Mastercard from Sky; you pay a £9.95 connection charge and £50 activation fee.

Total cost of contract £349.95 (effectively £19.45 a month).

If they're that bad, their early termination charge appears to be £15.81 for each remaining month, much of which could be recouped by getting a cashback deal for signing up elsewhere.

There was a charge of £20 by Sky when my Mother switched from TalkTalk to Sky: a charge for moving from an unbundled provider.

Prices based on Sky Fibre Unlimited.

I received my 3 email price rise emails from BT this afternoon ,I was paying £25.99 for 80 meg unlimited fibre with phone line and weekend calls included.

I was looking for the same deal for the £21.99 a month being quoted on here.

The first bloke I got through to was an arrogant so and so and would't budge from the price I was on.I phoned again and aked for the loyalty department and after asking his manager said he found the £21.99 deal so a £4 per month saving.

I have my son's and a rental property to haggle the same deal, one an evening will do.
