BT price increases September 2018

Rejoined BT for broadband and phone when I moved six weeks ago. Currently paying £35.99 for 18 months.
Already received (and used) their £130 gift card incentive and have £85 from TopCashback sitting in my bank account.
Can I really dump BT only two months in to an eighteen month contract with no penalty for what are, in my case, some insignificant price changes?
Copy of email.
Yes you can, be ready for BT to try to renegotiate with you but stand firm.
I did exactly the same, rejoined in April, 150 reward card 100 TCB. Moved over to EE last month. Line rental paid upfront. Got pro rata refund.0 -

Personally, if it was me, i'd be making sure every base was covered before i cancelled after a good chunk of cashback and a reward card.
I'd contact them on their livechat and want a hard-copy of anything they say as back-up because some of these CS agents make it up as they go along in my experience. Good for you if it works but as soon as i read this my first thought was surely BT wouldn't leave themselves that wide open!!
ps- i'd be looking at t & c's in the cashback and the reward voucher....these places are a minefield!!0 -

You have to contact BT and tell them you're leaving because of their prices changes anyway. Simply doing a switch behind their back would probably trigger termination charges.
Cashback isn't affected by terminating the contract early. It's not part of the contract.
I'm in two minds about cancelling my BT contract and switching. After incentives I'm paying £24 a month for a 50Mbits connection. I get that speed. The quality of Internet I receive from BT is extremely good. No slow downs. I really do get 50Mbits down and 10Mbits up.
I've been looking at what Sky and TalkTalk have to offer. The savings aren't huge. Other ISPs seem to be charging about what I'm paying now for a similar service. Perhaps around £70 cashback is possible. I'm not sure that's enough to encourage me to switch. Better the devil you know?0 -
So your going to risk staying with them with a them just because u don't have an email?
OP is meant to have received the e-mail on 26th June. 30 days after 26th June is 26th July. Today is 4th August, so he is now outside the 30 day period for cancelling contract due to a price rise.0 -

They certainly could be called a devil with regards to how they dealt with my problems in the past.....listen, i accept that because of the geography of my house i'm not gonna get fantastic speeds but the way they dealt with it, especially the offshore call centres, was horrendous!! I understand they're now moving a lot back to UK.
I also hear what you're saying with regards to moving!! Even with their flaws, and let's be honest no-one's perfect, i've being with them for over 5 years now. It's because every price increase/ end of contract they offer me a deal too good to leave. The offers from Sky et al have never come close and any potential cashback is more than ruled by their costs. £38 for fibre with kids, sport, entertaintment tv will do me for 18 months, subject to any price increases.
With regards to the cashback and voucher....yeah i was pretty sure you'd be OK with the cashback but it was really the voucher i meant.
ps- like i said, if it was me and i'd just joined them and pocketed a decent amount of cash/voucher from them i'd certainly consider it if i knew i had a watertight case for leaving!!0 -

Fairly similar to me other than i don't go down the ALR route....don't know why really other than in the past i'm sure i read people getting grief/hassle when they decided to leave their provider and they had paid ALR?? Need to look again at it sometime.
Do you know what you would be for broadband/line rental without ALR......my order shows £52.49 - £28.50 discount so £23.99 for me and i'm getting the MAX HD £15 same as you.
Did you get a fiver off the box as i think they were after £65 from me......i have a cheapo 4k television and must admit i was tempted to upgrade the box.0 -
UHD Boxes via BT members page have been £49.99 + £9,99 delivery for a year or more .
ALR £208 thats the price before Sept increase .
Monthly is £18.99
Current LR + BB is £25.99
My new deal is £17.73 via ALR + BB £3.
Dont forget ALR paid before Sept increase saves 10% + the ALR price increase .0 -
I contacted BT early July after reading that there was a price increase MSE weekly email, I spoke to two different people and was told by the last that the notification of price increases was being sent out in stages, so as to stagger call responses they get after these emails are sent. Did sound logical however, it is the 5th August and I still have had no increase email and am getting worried.
Is anyone else still waiting - am wondering whether to call them or go onto there forum. Last time I had the run around I posted on there and had a dedicated person who sorted it all out. Oh and I was told there will be increase0 -
Yes all the emails have not yet gone out . Source BT today .Ten days left for emails to go out .
I used
https://www.bt.com/static/wa/account/pricechanges/login/login.html
To confirm my price rise and used that as well i have been notified .
