You should be able to get fibre broadband, line rental and weekend calls for £23.99, just be persistent quoting Nowtv and Vodafone for £20/month and Plusnet 24.99/month.Does this include line rental, have not had my email yet but at moment am paying around £49 a month for Fibre 1 anytime calls and BT sports, the sport I can cancel this september and brings it down to £39.....but your price sounds pretty good.0 -
Got the £23.99 offer for phone and broadband and Max Hd tv pack for £15 down from £21. Anyone manage to beat £15 for Max Hd??
ps-Max Hd is entertainment tv, kids tv and BT sport i believe0 -
Cancelled mine yesterday. I signed up to a deal at the end of January and was paying £35 for Phone Line, 52mb and a mobile contract with unlimited calls and texts.
Received the email and wasn't happy at the rise, and them telling me if I took out a new 18 month contract AGAIN it would stay the same. If it can stay the same why are they giving me a rise? The cheek as well that I clicked their link to show me about signing up to a new contract it says they promise no price rises in the 18 months.
I like BT to be honest, their connection has been absolutely rock solid for me. But I saw Sky doing 79mb Fibre Max and phone line for £30 a month and Quidco giving £120 Cashback yesterday so I returned to them as they were my previous ISP.
Oh and I did ring BT's team to let them know I was leaving, the woman sounded miserable as hell at me deciding to leave, told me I was on the best deal now and that I could stay on the price I currently have but I snubbed it obviously.0 -
I called BT on Saturday to ask whether my broadband price was going up as I had read in the weekly MSE emails that it was, and they confirmed it was indeed. I asked why I wasn't informed and they said they had sent an email on 26th June. I did not recall seeing it so asked them to send me a copy, which they said they would do- they ultimately did not. I emailed them the next day to complain that I hadn't received the copy of the email that I had supposedly received on 26th June and they once again simply said they had sent the initial email- no copy forwarded to me again (and they addressed me by an incorrect name too- very personable). I emailed once again asking for a copy and their response today was pretty much only stating that the email address that I was emailing from is the same email address that the price increase email had gone to and it was now too late to leave my contract. Still no copy.
What can I do? I want to leave this contract as I do not trust the organisation given their poor responses.0 -

What is your email address you have on your BT account for receiving BT communications .
15th August is the deadline day re 30 days notice . So you have until then to get notification .
EMail has been sent you don't actually need to see it .
Just phone BT and say Cancellations .0 -
Received my email at the end of July. Price increase by £2.50 a month for my broadband and phone contract.
I had only negotiated 4 months earlier for an 18month contract for £22.99, super fast fibre unlimited and weekend calls (don’t use landline, so don’t care about call charge increases).
So rang up yesterday to cancel, they offered to keep the price the same if I took out a new 18 month contract. If making me take out another contract I always want to get something, as they’ve wasted my time making this call. Stated I still wanted to cancel if new contract, the advisor said was it just the contract that was the reason. I told her if the price was improved, then I would be happy to take out a new contract. She came back with £21.99 and said this was the very best they could do.
Happy with BT in general so took out this offer, so a price increase has led to saving another £18. Thanks BT.0 -
Just make sure they don't give you £21.99 now ... then still add the £2.50 next month!
I negotiated a new contract near the end of June ... then got the email in July. Rather than mess about with a new contract they credited my account with an amount equivalent to the rise over the contract period. Therefore the rise will still be applied but it'll have nil net impact.0
