Any hopes of saving some of the child benefit has gone out of the window as DS seems to have grown out of his trainers, school shoes and new coat within the past week. 😫 £66.99 spent this morning on ordering replacements. No sign of the ex offering to stump up anything towards the costs despite a conversation about it this morning, not that I’m surprised. Mind you, they do have all those takeaways to pay for... DS dropped into conversation they had 3 over the three days he was there this week and for a family of 6, that can’t be cheap, or healthy. 🙄 He also came back in the same socks he went there in which obviously hadn’t been washed and looks like they had been worn for all three days, plus filthy clothes. It makes me so mad and upset for DS.
I’ll be putting the current coat on eBay, DS has literally only worn it a couple of times and will hopefully help towards the cost of the new stuff.
DS is back at school today so I’m in the middle of cleaning the house through. Just need to Hoover through and I’m done.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I’ve just postponed the click and collect grocery delivery I had booked for tomorrow to collect on Sunday now instead. We can manage without it all for now and may as well spread the pennies a bit further by delaying the shopping until it’s really needed.

Hello all, thanks for checking in Mrs Money Penny xx
I'm still in house-hunting-hell unfortunately. I viewed three properties yesterday, one needed a lot of work and was at the top of my budget, the second I was really excited about until I got there and discovered you need to be under 5 foot tall to get down a staircase (seriously, the head clearance stopped at the base of my shoulders! Obviously no building regs...), and the third was 'ok.' Just ok. We could live there, but I wouldn't be excited about moving there and it's a lot less space than we have now. It was a good price though, just not a lot to it. I'll probably book a second viewing and take OH with me to get a second opinion. I'm so fed up with it all, I feel anxious for hours before every viewing now.
The situation with my parents is much the same. No really positive news to report there either unfortunately.
I am back at work now. I am struggling with it, but the longer I put it off the worse it would be. Struggling with everything to be honest, but just carrying on and plodding through.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I managed to finally get rid of all the charity shop stuff this week that's been sat in the garage for months, around 12 bin bags of it.
It required two trips to two different charity shops but I was so pleased to finally clear it all. The task of clearing and eventually packing everything out there looks less daunting now.
I listed DS's old (new) coat on ebay and it's sold for around £9 profit - better than nothing. I'm going to pay that £10 off the mortgage as a little boost.
I had a good chat with OH last night about the house situation and I am thinking of taking the house off the market until next year. The constant stress of trying to find somewhere is taking over my life and making me ill and there is nothing suitable available. I have also accepted the offer on mine before prices rose dramatically in this area - the same house type has been listed one street over for £30K more. Unfortunately the area in which I am trying to purchase has also risen in line with this, so I have been priced out of suitable properties by accepting what is now a low offer on mine. I'm not even trying to climb up the property ladder, I'm trying to buy something of less value. I will give it a few more days to have a think about things, but I know I can't go on the way I'm going for much longer.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I haven’t paid the eBay sale off the mortgage, I stashed it to the Christmas pot along with another £80 I had from cashback and a refund. That has all now been spent already on ordering gifts tonight, but I have now got everything for DS sorted which is a big relief. I’ve made a list of other things to buy, it’s not that much more and then the Christmas spending is all sorted.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Two more houses viewed today, one too small and the second had a bulging, cracked bedroom ceiling which looked like it was about to collapse any minute. The estate agent was shocked, apparently it wasn’t like that last time they were there... 🙄
My car was in for its MOT today and thankfully passed. They picked up something else that needed doing though that I asked them to check, but that was only £40, so £69.99 spent in total which I am so pleased about. I was half expecting to have to fork out for new brakes by now but apparently they’re fine. That leaves £300 in the car pot at the moment which will more than cover the car insurance due next month which is quite a relief.

Yay for car MOT. Not so good on the house viewing.

In your position I'd definitely withdraw your house from the market. You have nothing to gain and everything to lose by going ahead. Accepting an offer, which is now way below market value, is just putting you in another impossible situation, and leaving it till next spring will hopefully see more suitable houses on the market for you. You just don't need this kind of stress at the moment. You have more than enough on your plate to cope with, and this is one stress that you can choose to leave for now.
Hope that you start to feel better soon. (((((hugs)))) XXI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Thanks both xx
Thanks for your thoughts too Chrystal. Some people think I'm mad to withdraw from sale, others think it's a wise move so I don't really know what to do at the moment. I am desperate to move house, but it has to be to something with no serious issues and a home we can be settled in for at least the next 10 years. It doesn't help that we are so unhappy here and hate the area, even DS says that this house doesn't feel like home, which breaks my heart to hear him say it and I struggle to be here alone. The positives are that it's warm, dry (when it doesn't leak) and affordable for now. We have a safe roof over our head and for that I am very grateful considering the current state of affairs.
I think I will give it a few more days until my estate agent sends their weekly email to 'chase' me and I will be totally honest with them then. If the buyers choose to pull out, that is their choice, but I want them to be aware of the situation so that they can make the decision that's best for them too, I don't want to mess anyone around. If a suitable, affordable house came up tomorrow, I would buy it! Unfortunately there is very little good housing stock on the market here, it's mostly complete renovation jobs full of damp, outdated bungalows which need ripping out and starting again or high end 'executive' houses that many can no longer afford. It's a very sad reflection of the times i think.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16
