£44.74 sent to the house pot tonight from some craft sales, making it just shy of £800.
I’m currently at ‘home’. DS and I are both under the weather but enjoying being with my family. Time flies too quickly at times like this though. XxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

There’s now £858.30 in the moving fund after shifting a chunk of the child benefit to it. I’m hoping I can put at least £150 of the tax credits into that account too when that gets paid. It will be good to get it up over £1k again as I’d really like to hire a removal firm to move everything and that’s roughly what it cost last time. I know it’s a lot of money but they were amazing and did absolutely everything, they made moving day almost stress free and saved me so much time in putting furniture back together again last time. I don’t really have the manpower in the form of friends and family to help out here either, so it would be myself and OH doing it ourselves and neither of our backs would cope...
I have a busy and stressful week ahead of me and will be glad to get to the weekend. It makes it doubly difficult after feeling so homesick and missing family after time with them last week.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I’ve paid the house and contents insurance today £165 odd. It was the cheapest quote with home emergency cover included. There will be a £15 charge to change the policy when I move, but the new house will hopefully be cheaper to insure.
The money has come out of the car and house maintenance pot into which I save monthly to cover the insurances, mot and car tax as well as car maintenance. The car insurance is due next month and the MOT is Friday, so I hope it passes without too much expense. I have a feeling I need a couple of tyres and possibly the brakes doing though.Ideally I need the MOT and any work to come in under £250 which will leave me enough to pay the car insurance from that account next month too.
Child tax credits will be paid tomorrow. I am aiming to put £150 of it into savings pots, more if I can afford to.
My house was sold this week.I am doing my best to look forward now, but I did feel quite sad when I heard it was sold. Onwards and upwards eh?

That was quick...has anyone given you a rough timescale of moving dates? One thing that has always surprised me with moving, is that when you take your things out and your pictures down, the place becomes a shell almost and then you realise that it's you and your family that make a house a home. Hope that comes across as I meant it, that although you are understandably sad to leave, it's you and your DS that have and will make your house your home.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Thank you HSL2, yes, I do know what you mean. I'm finding being in the present house so stressful at the moment that I now just can't wait to get out and into the new place. I'm sad about it all but it needs to happen now.
The move is restricted to when the new place is finished and I have been reassured it will be by the end of February. I hope it's earlier, but we'll see how it goes.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

The tax credits have hit the bank and both my groceries and other 'spends' pots are looking healthy enough, so I have transferred all of the tax credits to savings pots.
£150 has gone into the moving fund which has brought that back up to over £1k and £61 has been sent to the car and house maintenance pot just in case the MOT highlights any work that needs doing. There's £478.77 in that pot now and another £100 will go in there on payday at the end of the month. This needs to cover the MOT this week and car insurance next month. Early insurance quotes were coming in at around £250 - £280.
In readiness for the move, I've advertised a couple of pieces of furniture that I won't be able to take with me. I love them, they are proper solid pieces, but they just won't fit so have to go. There's been lots of interest on one and a couple of people have asked about the other so fingers crossed they sell quickly. They should make over £150 combined.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I think one item of furniture has sold, pending collection. I’m a bit gutted, I only bought it recently and it is a specific piece that I had been looking for for a while as it reminded me of my grandparents (it was a charity shop find for me), but it just won’t fit in the new place so will have to go.
I received and filled in lots of forms from my solicitor today regarding the sale and purchase. Thankfully I’d estimated their fees correctly when working out my budget so am please there is no nasty surprises there.
I have managed to get everything together quite successfully tonight and am ready for the mortgage appointment tomorrow (after last week’s epic fail on my part in forgetting all the required documents), and I can also return everything to the solicitor tomorrow. Both are only a short walk from my house so I don’t have far to go. Hopefully I’ll feel a bit better about progress tomorrow, I really struggled today, with everything. I was tired from the word go and nearly crumbled about everything a few times today.
I made OH and I a chilli tonight with a pack of ‘finest’ mince from the freezer that was a YS buy a few weeks back for the grand sum of £1.20. I padded it out with some peppers and mushrooms that needed using up and a tin of mixed bean salad that had been lurking in the cupboard for a while. I cooked a couple of jacket potatoes in the oven for us to have with it - love them cooked until crispy in the oven.
It’s made enough for dinner tomorrow too with probably at least another one or two portions thereafter, so definitely got my money’s worth there.
My groceries pot is looking really good so far this month. I’ve spent less than £50 since pay day which will be two weeks ago tomorrow. The fridge is looking bare now but I am finding that I am still cooking up nice meals and lunches with everything I have in the freezer and cupboards. I will need to buy a few fridge bits and some fruit and veg this weekend, but not much else.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Well, the chilli fed us for three days! :rotfl:
We popped to Asda last night and picked up some lovely fresh speciality bread reduced to 10p a loaf. I've just had some for my lunch with a tin of soup - can't argue with a lovely filling lunch for about 51p.I also bought some YS bananas, mixed salad, chicken en croute meal for OH and I tonight and a couple of other bits.
I sorted the mortgage yesterday and dropped everything needed back to the solicitors. The mortgage valuation has been instructed and I was pleased to see the bank pay for that. They also offered me free conveyancing for the purchase with their solicitors, but I've already gone ahead and instructed mine whom I have much more confidence in, so I am not that bothered to miss out on that offer.
I need to do some remedial work in the house over the weekend, but have all the materials necessary. Am literally counting the weeks until this is all sorted now, it's so stressful.
I made some craft orders last night and have a few more to do tonight. I won't reap much in the way of profit from these though as need to pay for postage and buy some more supplies.
Just had the call to say the car passed the MOT! But... it was recommended the front brake pads needed replacing so I've told them to go ahead. It came in at under £140 inc the MOT so I'm pleased with that. The money's been transferred from the car pot to cover it.
I've also moved a little bit of money from there to cover some Christmas gifts for DS. I have finished buying all of his presents now and only have around 4 or 5 left to buy for others, which should cost me no more than £50 - £60. I will transfer another £100 to the gifts account on payday to cover those.
Hope everyone has a good weekend xMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16
