Hello all and thank you for checking in on me.
I haven't been able to bring myself to write much lately as there's really nothing positive to report, quite the opposite really.
Yesterday morning was not the best as I had more bad news about rising costs to work needed on the house I'm purchasing. I will admit to just sitting at my desk with my head in my hands and crying my eyes out at one point.
I've instructed my solicitor to pause things for now until I receive a quote for the full works needed then I will decide what to do from there. I have booked to view another house this week too, just in case it all goes wrong with the first one. The other house is a lot more expensive than the one I'm supposed to be purchasing, but still £20K cheaper than my current house although will mean a larger mortgage than I was hoping to end up with, but nothing needs doing. I will probably have to pay for the solicitor's work done so far if I pull out though and will have to bank on my buyers staying with their parents as they said they would (although they are now being difficult about this).
I'm really feeling down about it all to be honest. If we weren't so unhappy here and my mortgage wasn't as high as it is, I'd be staying put and taking the house off the market, I've really had enough now.
We've also had bad news from my Dad's biopsy he had recently, the cancer is back and in his only remaining kidney. The are going to try and 'zap' the tumours, but obviously options are limited with just one kidney left. Guess we have to take it a day at a time.
The only positive news is that, bizarrely, despite all the stress, I have been sleeping better this week and I can only put it down to a change of diet. I have joined slimming world and have been eating really well since Thursday of last week - lots of fruit and veg and nothing processed so far at all. I am not sure if I'm losing weight that rapidly, but I am sleeping better.
There's another £125 in the savings - £50 for both premium bonds and help to save + the £25 H2S bonus for this month. I had to pay £100 to the removal company as a deposit last week before I knew about the latest costs for the house, so that came out of the savings too.
I hope everyone is remaining well and as happy as can be. Thank you for your support as always, it means a lot. xx

Thank you both.
I received some upsetting news last night that a family member who lives overseas is dying and doesn't have long left at all. It was a bit of a shock as we didn't even know they were ill. I have happy memories of their visits and my visits to them when I was younger, I haven't seems them since DS was a baby, but I'm feeling really sad today. This past year is not being kind to my family.
I've tried to do a bit more packing this morning despite not knowing if I'm actually moving yet. My heart's not in it, so I've given up for now. The estate agent told me yesterday that the 'back up house' I'm viewing tomorrow has a ridiculous amount of interest so will probably go for well over asking price which will rule it out for me. I will go along to see it, but it seems a bit pointless.
Before the house move was so up in the air last week, I started selling the furniture that I wouldn't have been able to take to the new house as there is no room for them. I didn't really want to part with any of it but there was no point taking it with us. Two items have gone already, making £55, the remaining three items all have interest and will make £345 but, as anyone who has sold things on facebook knows, some people are such time wasters and have been messing me around no end. Two items in particular I am really sad to see go, they haven't been paid for or picked up yet, so I'm hoping I get the quote for the house repairs soon so I can keep them if we don't end up moving there. Daft really, it's just 'stuff.' The house is also feeling a bit bare already, can't believe I'm having to do all this again.

Another of the items of furniture was collected yesterday for £45. I have around £80-£90 I need to put into the bank and a tin of coins to cash up if those coin-counter things are in use at the moment?
Another item is being collected on Tuesday for £175 and someone has expressed interest on something else that will bring in £40.
I have decided to keep my wardrobes and try to adapt them to fit the space in the new place, I'm quite handy when it comes to DIY, so I'm sure I can do it. It will be such a shame to get rid of them, they cost a lot of money only 2 years ago.
I have cancelled the viewing on the back up house. There were several offers already so it was going to best and final, not something I am interested in getting involved in. I didn't even want the house that badly.
I have instructed my solicitor to proceed with the existing purchase and I will just deal with the work needed. If I can't afford the whole thing, I will have to find a way to do what I can afford and save for the rest. Driving past the house on the school run today, DS said he couldn't wait until we move there as he loves the area and the house, that made my mind up.
On a positive note, I lost 5lb this week and didn't feel like I was on a diet at all. Hopefully it continues!
