    Whose advice was that, then?

The person should have appealed when they got the PCN (NEWBIES THREAD SAYS SO).

They could have ignored debt collector letters, but never ignore Court claims from parking firms (NEWBIES THREAD AGAIN).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So a family member followed the advice; ignore all letters. The letters were from DRP on behalf of Parking Eye. Today a letter came through the door saying it had been to court along with a reference number that we looked up on https://www.gov.uk/county-court-judgments-ccj-for-debt/ccjs-and-your-credit-rating

The website showed the reference number was genuine and showed they won the case and as the fee wasn’t paid a CCJ has now been applied against this person.

So is the government lieing aswell as these “cowboys” too? I doubt it.

Is all the advice in this thread complete nonsense !!!!!!!!? The same nonsense as the ‘freeman’ defence? It’s detailed in the OP that you will not receive a CCJ...

Your family member has probably skim read and made 2 + 2 = 6

Nowhere on this huge forum does it say to ignore court papers.

What is said very clearly is that if you go to court, you lose, the judge orders you pay £xxx within 28 days AND YOU DO PAY WITHIN THE TIME PERIOD ... THERE WILL NO BE A CCJ

Sadly this person of yours has passed totally incorrect information to you .... hence there is or was no nonsense
On this thread, it tells you to IGNORE DEBT COLLECTORS

THIS THREAD EXPLAINS CCJ's IN DEPTH
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5849106/the-ccj-myth-and-threats-and-lies-told-by-debt-collectors-and-ppcs-exposed&highlight=myth

All these threads are available for everyone to read and digest so there is
    no excuse

It says ignore DRP and ZZPS no mention of ignoring Parking Eye. Parking Eye are not debt collectors.

I'm wondering if the advice needs to be altered for people who really haven't any idea about anything at all and don't do any research at all?

ParkingEye do not deal with DRP for any debt recovery.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • These companies are unregulated and don't follow the FCA Code of Conduct. I would like to see the PMB really tighten up on these companies. As many motorists appeal the claim is obviously disputed therefore under FCA rules of conduct it should not be placed with debt collectors.

If the PMB requires all debt collectors to be regulated then there would be no point as most claims are disputed. They are just the means to scam another £60.00 out of the motorist. They are superfluous to requirements.

The letters that Zenith sent to me were made to appear as if the claim had been assigned. According the IPC rules of conduct the agents of the PPC are suppose to behave professionally. That is a complete farce.

  • The main problem with CCJ's from parking claims is the length of time that they PPC can make the claim. In this time people can change their address several times. Perhaps the time limit that the PPC can bring the claim should be reduced from the statutory six years to one year. What is the point of waiting for six years to claim?

The six year rule was for REAL debts, Real debt collectors and REAL legals ....... NOT THE LOW LIFE CR*P WE SEE ON HERE

its called credit clamping , it costs them £25 to do the dirty , then when you find out , you either pay in full in which case they will let you do uncontested set aside @ £100 or you end up paying £255 , which you will hardly ever get back , they are just being vindictive , they KNOW you will have moved , but hay ho they do it

Good spot! The post is untrue, and presumably the PPCs' own version of project fear.
