Well I emailed him yesterday afternoon asking for a return label and he hasn't responded. Until he does, I can't do anything. Ball is in his court

Now that you've done that you can leave it. He has the option for arranging a return and should he get funny about it later you have the email proving you were trying to co operate. Just keep the item safe for a while.

There is no case open so ebay is not involved at all and anyway ebay do not issue labels for NARU'd sellers where there is a chance they can't recoup the money. Ebay do not see any return requirement here, that is between the seller and the buyer- so it is immaterial what ebay know or don't know about sellers address, it is nothing to do with them anymore.
I'd disagree with most of this.

It is easy to contact ebay support without a case, there is a chat icon at the side of every page.

eBay do have have discretionary payments available in CS, to cover all types of cases.
Its everything to do with eBay, they have far more info on the seller than the buyer does.
Guess we'll agree, we disagree :D

No I didn't ask that, I asked what would happen if I were to deny I had received them. Because presumably the seller wouldn't have much of a leg to stand on. I said I was tempted because the bloke is a tool and a liar. I haven't at any point said I was going to keep them. Right from the start I have said morally I know they should be returned, and i asked for peoples thoughts on it

With proof of delivery? A pretty easy small claims win.
Calls someone a liar whilst talking about telling a lie.........sigh

    Who delivered the package?
  • The other issue is that he's breached GDPR by giving my name and address to Amazon without my knowledge or permission

If i write you a letter and give it to the Post Office to send to you is that breach of GDPR too?

No idea, it was delivered to my work so I don't see the delivery, they just bring post round the office in the afternoons

The packaging doesn't provide any clues either

I think Amazon track all their packages regardless of the delivery method.
