just rang brother in law who is a champion spud grower
says they take about 5-6 weeks in the dark to sprout then in 6 months you should have leaves and such so about 8 months to harvest0 -
How do you find all this stuff??0

at my age you find youve learned a lot and if not my 77year old mum will know or my old mates who are also well read

hes never had a crufts winner or anything though0 -
little potatoes are done in a few months....my mum thought I'd killed them, as I waited for the stalks to die down - don't know if you are meant to, but once they had tatties where doing just fine!!!
