  • Tried to renew me and my wife's EHI card on line. Govt. site won't accept my wife's on line application because we share the same email address. Who designs these sites? Has it not occurred to them that we also share the same postal address?

but you and your wife have different names; the name, or some other differentiating set of characters, needs to be part of the email address.
Put another way, an email address is (should be) personal to an individual, not a building.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
  • I have a similar question. I am about to book a post-brexit holiday where the flights and hotel will be booked separately. I know that the flights will be refunded but what about the prepaid hotel. Will the hotel be refunded because we can't travel. Are these any clauses in the insurance policy that I should be looking out for such as consquential losses, etc?

Or do you think it would be better to book a fully cancellable hotel (for more euros) that you pay on arrival. But there is a risk that the sterling equivalent cost of the hotel will go up due to the pound plummeting.

Why - and when did this become a rule ?
Myself and wife have 1 e-mail, why can firms not understand that not every couple need to hide things from each other.

  • I applied for my wife and I recently, I was able to do both within the same application process, only one email address needed.

  • Not sure if I should post a separate thread but as it's Brexit related thought I'd give this one a go...

Is anyone concerned about Eurostar post Brexit?

A French minister states in the event of a 'No Deal' Eurostar will not run (link)

I can forsee cancellations and long delays (due to backlog of passengers)...

Looking to go to Amsterdam for my mums 60th but she cannot fly, may schedule the trip for later in the year rather than spring early summer?
  • Depends on the airline - Thomas Cook have updated their terms and conditions - as of July 2018

"we cannot pay any compensation, reimburse expenses, or cover losses for any amount or otherwise accept responsibility if, as a result of circumstances beyond our control ..."

Which includes ... "the inability of airline(s) to operate flights as a result of the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union (including the loss or restriction of air traffic or transit rights or the right of airline(s) to enter any airspace)"

Oh crikey! I've got non-refundable flights booked to Schipohl in April 2019, two weeks after UK is due to leave EU. I'm resigned to there being a 'no deal' so was considering buying Eurostar tickets as a back-up.

My travel insurance is due soon so will start searching for one with a Brexit no-fly clause.
