If anyone is looking for a good tablet they should be looking at the ipad Pro. Excellent machine. It is expensive but then you do get what you pay for. Some people won't be able to afford such a quality machine. It'll last forever so you'll never see a refurbished ipad for sale because they last forever and there aren't any available to refurbish.

So lets get this straight they "killed" (dramatic) a pc that in your words did not really affect their customer base because around that time no one was buying macs. Erm is that not a case of a company making something that was not really selling therefore rather than waste resources they just stopped making it or supporting it?

I have never denied anything that Apple has factual done in the past whether its been good, fair or bad and all I have said to you is stop being over dramatic.

Its a private company who make decisions that they think will help the company grow and be successful and stay in business. If you don't make stuff that people want then you go out of business. However I don't think one of their business decisions is to please 7 billion people in the world all at the same time.

I get it you don't like Apple and how they approach tech and for whatever reason you have it in your head that their phones only last 2 years and the iPad is at the mercy of being killed at anytime.

I find it fascinating that something you don't have any interest in owning can create such distaste that you have to get it out of your system when someone is asking about the speed of tablets and possibly owing a chromebook. Stretching to join the dots between a company discontinuing hardware because of business needs to just taking a fancy to kill hardware whenever and anyone owning a iPad is at the mercy of them.

Now you have decided that any customer who buys from Apple is not getting a good deal because Apple works against them. Not to rain on your parade but the world does not revolve around you. Companies are not there to serve only your needs and visions of how things should be. People's needs and wants can be different because guess what people are individuals and can make decisions based on many different factors.

I love that people can buy android devices, Apple devices and chromebooks. Would I buy android devices or chromebooks no I wouldn't because that's not the experience I choose to have. However I would not throw around hyperbolical claims about those companies just because I personally would not buy their products. I wouldn't claim to know what is best for their customers and certainly not imply that anyone who buys non apple products have been gotten to so much that they would eat a turd from the company.
    John,
The reason PowerPC's weren't selling is because the software was crap. Apple, with the benefit of hindsight, made the correct decision to transition to Intel. It doesn't mean they went about it in the right way, and a lot of people did get shafted. Just because you weren't one of those (or maybe you were?), does not mean it didn't happen.

The rest of your post is just long-winded drivel, isn't it? I never said their phones only last 2 years. At what point did I say "after 2 years, your iPhone switches off and says no more", we're not talking about iPod's here..... (oh wait, that was 18 months, my bad)

I have owned Apple products. I owned an iPhone 3G when they first came out and I was given an iPhone 5 as a company phone. I don't have a specific distaste for Apple. I was simply informing the original poster that when you buy Apple, you have to be aware that it's a closed ecosystem.

Sorry, when did I say customers don't get a good deal? If you earn enough to afford an iMac or iPhone, and that is the product you desire, then go ahead and buy it. Your money, your choice. Ultimately, value for money is in the eye of the beholder. I personally feel that Android devices released around the same last longer. Part of that is down to Google's really relaxed rules on the Play Store, part of that is down to the fact when I've exhausted the OEM software, I can just flash an AOSP build and recover another 18-24 months worth of performance (Yes, it makes that big a difference).

You can throw around all the hyperbolic claims you want buddy. Nothing I have said is a lie, or lacking in factual basis. Everything I've said 'Killing PowerPC', 'Killing 32Bit', 'iPod's only lasting 18 months', are historically accurate. I don't need to make up !!!!!!!! when I can simply pull out facts :) How cool is that?

What is best for the consumer is what the consumer wants and what they are used to. I wouldn't recommend switching at this point, unless you fancy a change of pace. If Bryan likes iPhones, then I'd suggest buying an iPhone. If Gary likes an Android, I suggest an Android. If Dave has no opinion and would like mine, then I'll say exactly what I've said above..... because like I said: NONE OF IT, IS FACTUALLY INCORRECT.

    Q.E.D.
    Cheers John.

Slight guilty conscience when I 'recycled' iPad Air mid contract. (Excellent condition)
    10.5 pro was irresistible
Almost 1st of 2 year contract complete.
10.5 should suffice for a few years yet.

Well done. Excellent choice of tablet. iPad pro is the best but only for those smart enough to be able to afford one.
