May be stating the obvious but you can't usually go to the depot on the day you get the card - you have to wait until at least the next day so the night shift gets a fair crack at running over it with their fork lift....
Plus it will be a bog standard modem/router so if you have one of those already you just need the login credentials from Plusnet.0 -

True yeah, the Royal Mail card's dated Tuesday but it wasn't at the depot yesterday (wed) or today (thu). I'm going to have one last check on Saturday, I can't go every day because it's a 45 minute round trip to the depot and back and they're only open until 5 on weekdays.
I think I've possibly got an old USB single-PC-use modem lying around somewhere, not sure I've got a filter, but at this rate I'm going to have to dig it up and see if it works. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -

So I was thinking of changing to PlusNet, as they were quoting me £6.49 for 10gb download a month.
So I phoned BT for a MAC, but also asking if they could do me a better deal to save me the hassle.
The very friendly chap on the end of the phone was able to offer me £7.49 for the same contract I'm on now (Broadband Option 1) for 12 months.
Excellent! Saved me about half the cost I was paying and the hassle of moving providers. :T
Though I'll wait and see what happens in 11 1/2 months time when it's due to renewal.
(Wasn't sure where to post this great news, so if it needs moving, feel free to do so.)

Hi Guys,
We have recently moved house from where we had virgin broadband through cable with no phone line, i am looking to get a similar setup in our new place however i have found out cable isnt available.
So my question is, do we have to get a phone line (and pay that every month) and then get a broadband package ontop of that? The reason being we wouldnt use a phone package at all and just want broadband.
I rang o2 up earlier this month and they mentioned hanging on to the end of this month as they will soon be able to provide a phone line if that helps anyone

Can anyone suggest a company who might be able to help please?
At my house I have a working phone line connected to the BT exchange, but no current contrat or phone number. I have had it connected with broadband before, speed and everything were fine.
I want to get a broadband connection, but don't really want to only have the option of a 12 month+ contract with BT and an ISP on top. (it's not the contract length that the problem, it's just that bundled providers seem to be cheaper) I know some bundled providers will handle your new line connection for you, and some claim never to have heard of such a thing! Older posts have reccomended The Phone Co-op and Madasafish ISP - has anyone had any luck with anyone else handling he whole connection/calls/broadband thing for them?
Thanks in advance for your experiences.

I'm trying to sign up to this for my Mum - never had internet before and I'm looking at the £7 per month for her. She has got a PAYG phone with Orange so I'm clicking on exisiting customers and I have to ring CS - is there any way around this so that I can get the cashback? If I click as a new customer will I only have to pay a one off £10 for a SIM only package (which will still make me quids in with the cashback)?

Any ideas please?0

Madasafish/Plusnet are owned by BT (I think BT want a bargain basement provider without revealing, to the majority of their customers, the cheaper alternative.)
Try giving "Plusnet" a call?0
