Attack solution donations..

I think arguing on this point is stupid.
I think that B_S is right, as Martin would not do this site if it didnt
pay for itself, but on the flip side everyone who says that this site is valuable for lots of people are also right.
Im not sure about donating, as the cause of this was external, and i find donating these days is becoming less a good thing, look at the mccanns for instance.
The sad fact of the matter is people have vested interests in silencing the truth, and someone made a lot of money for this attack, in this day and age every site is vulnerable to this sort of attack, the best thing we can all do is make sure our pcs are clean of the spyware & trojan horses/virii that were used in this attack.
But i think someone will be investigating who did this, everything can be traced eventually no matter how good they are, there is still an originating signal, and the person who set this series of events off, knows this as well.
Alternatively this could just have been a huge publicity stunt lol0 -
What a lovely offer, but I must decline!
I'm very moved by the generosity of the offer from some of you. The DDOS attack has been very expensive, yet the solutions we've used are necessary an should help the site going forward.
Thankfully the finances of the site are healthy and its in profit, so whilst this was an unfortunate and expenive problem; it was an affordable one.
Yet I really appreciate the offer. Its very moving and simply by offering, when I know the financial situation of many on this board, you've given me more than money can buy.

BS, Martin is very open and transparent about how the site is financed, there are links to the explanation all over the place including on every weekly email AND at the top right (ish) of this page!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

I was going to post something similar to what was said above.
If you dont agree with making a donation then thats fine, but some people want to (including myself). I know one of the ways this site makes money is from us using the links Martin gives in some of his mail outs and also links featured on this site. I guess its a bit like how a cash back site works! Each time there are one of this links (to a cc or to topcashback or whatever) it is clearly marked with an asterix and there is an explanation that that particular link is helping to fund this site.
Hope that makes sense!Debt Free - done
