Attack solution donations..

Having read Martin's statements in his diary about the DDOS attack I want to try and do something to help.
It’s Sunday afternoon. MoneySavingExpert.com is down again at the moment; as we investigate a sadly expensive solution to the DDOS attack we’ve been under since Friday 4pm. I hadn’t seen this coming. It’s shocking and debilitating. I’m writing this in the hope we’ll find a way to improve it; we’re all ready looking at solutions, but sadly they’re eye wateringly expensive.

This is why I've started this thread to try and rally around some support for Martin and his team. I know most of us haven't got much but I am willing to donate £5 to them. Either to contribute towards the enormous cost of getting the site back online, or even just for a round of beers for the team for a job well done. I know it's not much and probably not in keeping with the DFW spirit but I really think if a worthwhile cause if ever there was one..

So martin if you fancy giving us an address to send donations to... :)

What a lovely offer, but I must decline!

I'm very moved by the generosity of the offer from some of you. The DDOS attack has been very expensive, yet the solutions we've used are necessary an should help the site going forward.

Thankfully the finances of the site are healthy and its in profit, so whilst this was an unfortunate and expenive problem; it was an affordable one.

Yet I really appreciate the offer. Its very moving and simply by offering, when I know the financial situation of many on this board, you've given me more than money can buy.

Martin

Someone's done the same on Facebook too......Martin, loads of us would like to contribute, even if it's only a couple of pounds. What can we do? Where can we send it?

This site has saved me so much money, and at times saved my sanity, so it's the least I can do.

I'll happily donate too, I felt lost this weekend. I think the good thing that's come out of this though, is so many of us now really understand what this site means to us and how much of a part of our lives it is.
