Prepping for Brexit thread

It’s impossible to speak to anyone at my GP surgery – it’s all done on the computer. Unfortunately I’m not reliable for instance last week I did manage to get a repeat prescription ordered, but for some reason I’ve had no response to my econsult. It’s most likely that I didn’t submit it properly. I tried to ring yesterday but I was number 31 in the queue and unfortunately my ADHD kicked in and I ended up frustrated and upset 😠4 -
Good morning guys
It feels like a whole new world since I started this thread so I thought I’d check in and see how anyone’s doing. My Brexit prepping seems to have taken on another life, it became lockdown prepping (which did get run down because I got really stressed going in supermarkets at the beginning) and then slowly rebuilt. I haven’t an awful lot of space so I rotate each week and then add the new stuff. My prepping has now become Xmas prepping for now so as part of my shop I add a few bits of my Xmas shop list. OH doesn’t like boozy food and the alcohol free Xmas pud is in stock this week so I’m getting that and a few of the sweetie presents.I also have a bad feeling about my job. I think we may get our contracts cut down soon. Rather that than redundancy. So if I’m stocked up at least thats one less headache.I hope everyone is keeping well and warm. We’ve tested our heating and then turned it off again. Luckily our little flat is warm.
Every penny saved now can be useful later on.
Im expecting shortages of fresh stuff due to chaos at the ports and price rises due to the trade deal that can’t seem to get sorted in the new year but after what’s happening with Covid it doesn’t seem that important. As long as we have food on the table and a roof over my head I’ll be happy.
Anyway enough of my ramblings, please feel free to pop by and say hello

Same as above really, Brexit morphed into Covid, stopped gong into shops & now on line only [vulnerable group].I tend to add an extra something on, just in case, maybe tin of toms, more beans, whatever i feel like really without going overboard and buying 30 tins of beans for instanceEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7

So really, us prepping for Brexit really helped us through covid. Just shows, it pays to prep!

I couldn,t believe it the other day when our supermarket with whom we,ve been ordering online deliveries since lockdown started asked us to book our Christmas delivery slot (we're in the vulnerable group) before they're released to the general public. Managed to grab one of the few remaining slots for Dec 22nd . I think the ill prepared may find themselves In difficulty with shopping this Christmas, especially If local lockdowns continue so best to start stocking up with all the non perishables early..5

Hi MV
i think so too. It looks like Boris has got his no deal. It’s proved time after time that this government aren’t that organised so all we can do is make sure we’re stocked up ( simple things we take for granted like paracetamol can be in short supply)
We went into Tier 3 at midnight so I spent yesterday evening ordering some of my Xmas presents. I’ve been happily list making too. I love a good list.

I'm great with lists too. At least you can do them from the recliner and not have to actually move..3
