I don't usually pay much attention either but the words We must protect the Ming Vase grabbed my attention.Might be worth knitting a tasteful covering to disguise that vase on your head otherwise you may find yourself in protective custody or sold to the highest bidder.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I'm blackmailing him, he needs to keep me on side. You sit in a corner with a vase on your head for long enough and it's amazing what you see going on.

Ah so it wasn't to cut down on visits to the hairdresser. Do you have secret peepholes in the vase? I'm afraid sitting listening in a corner is too big an ask for me. Well done for taking one for the team. Thanks second memory for the cheese mention. I can survive anything if I have enough cheese. I need to stock up on ready grated Red Leicester which comes in handy on bad arthritis and fibro days when the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. It freezes well and is very useful to knock up a quick snack or meal.pollyxETA You'd need secret earholes too Mar. Oh and rescue Larry while you're there..It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I have a secret cheese connection 😉 One of my boys works for a very large creamery who are always developing new recipes for different supermarkets - There is always a lot of the new product left over after Expos and launches et cetera and a fair bit finds it’s way to me 😃
😋😋

😋😋That's my idea of heaven! I never tire of cheese and do like the different versions on sale nowadays. Even though we have a cheese shop in the village they don't sell Red Leicester hence the ready grated coop version. It's all Lancashire , Cheshire here in most shops. It was quite exciting when they started to add herbs etc to cheese.pollyx

I am the opposite to many of you it seems - no need for me to stock up on oil as I don’t use it, nor dairy. I am however stocking up on peanut butter which is probably the main source of fat in my diet! My priorities for Brexit are stocking up on wholemeal pasta, brown rice, chopped tomatoes, puy lentils, olives, paprika and oat milk. I’m going to get a greenhouse to grow different varieties of tomato next year too, and hopefully peppers. As long as none of you tell Liz Truss you’re eating imported cheese we should be fine 😂Original mortgage free date: November 2044Current mortgage free date: November 2038Chipping away...4

SBs claim to have their Wholewheat Organic Fusilli but I haven't seen that for ages or Seeds of change sauces which are handy in the cupboard on low energy days.TBH although I've always been a prepper I've been concentrating more on the present situation with dd still shielding at her boyfriends six months on.After months of phone calls from the GP, Consultants , Nurses etc everything has gone quiet although she's still been told to shield.it was two months before I discovered the monthly phone calls to order the meds had stopped . I spoke to both the practice manager and her deputy but neither mentioned they were no longer able to make the calls later I spoke again and it was explained all meds needed the requests posting through the letterbox at the surgeryThe pharmacy should have putting a list in with the meds each month but hadn't . I only discovered that via the practice manager in another call. I and I'm sure many others would like clarity now. The BMA have requested it as have the medics but they're as much in the dark as we are.Last meds pick up I requested the slips at the pharmacy. I was given a wad of papers numbered page 1 to 3 however when I got home they were all page 1 of 3 , no page 2 or 3.I managed to dig out the tear off slips from the last paper prescriptions in Feb so have used that . A few days from now and it will be another conversation at the pharmacy only this time I'll speak to the pharmacist rather than an assistant.GP and his staff have been fine. Practice nurse has turned up to do regular blood and asthma checks in full ppe. GP has spoken to dd on the phone as have rheumo consultant and nurse. Her consultant appt had to be moved to next July due to the pandemic. The problem is nothing is in place as it was under shielding.pollyx.It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I’m shielding in preparation for my pre- op. It is unbelievable how long some of these things are taking atm. When I started blood transfusions in August, I was told I needed them weekly for the time being - Well that hasn’t happened and I’m reduced to feeling so weak and breathless just walking and talking.I’ve been waiting 10 days for a urine tube through the post 🙁 I understand these are tough times but I do not want permanent kidney damage – if that’s what I die of, I’ll still count as a victim of COVID-197 -

GP has shared care with consultants so monitors bloods , breathing etc and has been prescribing oral steroids when needed in place of injections or barbotage. We aren't concerned the appt is put back but your situation is so wrong. Our gp is a one man practice with over 3000 patients. Like many others he's had to fund all PPE for himself and staff plus deep cleans , signage etc.It seems hands are tied now. I would have thought Matt Hancock would have sent out another letter now for those ordered to shield but it seems that's now not important.Patients like yourself and all those needing urgent treatment haven't got better since March. No miracle cures. I understand peoples are at risk of losing their jobs but human life should come first.I'm not even sure if the Nightingale hospitals will be used this time for Covid patients enabling patients needing other treatments to be seen asap.I think I''m taking the brexit thread off course here but it's wrong something needed by you is not sent as promised. People are anxious enough without fearing for their survival for other health reasons. Dd and I received a Boris Letter each, a Shielding Letter from the gp and Matt Hancocks letter. So two copies to this address.Apart from GP we no longer seem to exist so I can't begin to imagine how you feel.I wish you well and hope the powers that be get their act together and you get the treatment you need.pollyxETA Are you able to speak to your GP about the situation. Our GP will do online or phone appts.
