    Oh My God
    TWO MONTHS already!
It's absolutely flown. Well, I've not got a lot to tell, really. Bankruptcy for me was the best option and so far it has been. I moan about life all the time. Not recently. I have more energy, I'm on "food re-education" - can't call it a diet because it's not. I have money saved and don't have anything major to worry about. Apart from my mobile. Funny - it never rings anymore ;) LOL!!! I go to it - just to check and no missed calls or messages. Hmmmmm. A welcome change and a relief.
My latest update is I've been put on my NT code as of this week - I thought my payslip looked generous. I got a letter from Customs & Excise and they've changed it. God knows what I am supposed to do but once Co-op get their finger out I'll put the tax to one side until April as I am supposed to. My bank account is STILL open. I don't use it but it's there.
I feel a bit strange writing this because I don't have anything to whinge about!!!!!! I don't like my job. I am looking for alternative employment. I've seen something permanent I fancy and I think I would be good at - I'll keep you posted. There is only so much moaning you can take listening to tales of woe about parcels and stamps all day. But I am working and I can't moan about that. And still single but the weight is coming off and I feel better in myself.
So life all in all is ok. Hahahahahaha - I am planning a trip to the US after I am discharged so I have lots to look forward to.

Thank you for the support everyone. I am so grateful for all the advice. It's not for everyone but bankruptcy has been the best thing to happen to me in years. So thanks

  • Hi Loop,
glad to hear everythings moving on nicely for you.:j

Its amazing how the time flies by and i can't believe its been 2 months already for you:eek: you'll be hankering after ED soon..(by the way, i got mine 25/01/08..5 months and 11 days after BR, so if your OR's office is efficient as mine was then you'll be looking at it soon enough):D
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

    Hi Lou. :)

It's really good to hear that BR seems to have been the fresh start you needed. The difference in your outlook now compared with a few months ago comes loud and clear in your posts.

Bankruptcy certainly isn't the best thing in the world and it won't solve all your problems, but it sounds as if you are going to be able to make the best of things now.

A trip to the US and the possibility of a more interesting job as well? :D

I hope things continue to go well. You certainly deserve it after everything.

  • I am hankering after ED! I wish it was over. It's the job thing more than anything. I want to earn more and I have the ability to do so - it's the IPA thing stopping me.
However, a small price to pay for less worry and stress.

I've heard nothing from my OR - I am not complaining. I am happy with that. All is ok, there.

It's nice to feel that as time passes - each day is closer to AD. That DDay - oooh discharge day. I bet that's been said loads of times and I didn't know. I'm not au fait with BR speak. I wish I'd done it long ago. My mum's noticed the change in me. I am glad it's changed my outlook - that debt is a huge weight and once it's lifted - not just the balance in your bank and status changed - you do.

    12.12.2008 - 10 months to go - hopefully less x

Well you're a pretty good candidate for ED. :)

Just have to see what happens. Maybe you can beat BLTN at 5 months and 11 days (I think?).

But as you say, the relief from the stress and hassle makes even a few extra months worthwhile in the end. I can understand you being eager to get on with things though.

Loving life as a Kernow Hippy
  • Neither can I! It's flown by. I'm loving not worrying about stuff. I thought money was everything. Having fancy stuff. I never spent on extravagant things like a smart car or clothes. I just overspent and tried to live. I have learnt that you can live within your means. A little late but a valuable lesson learned.

Fermi - am I really? A good candidate for ED? How do you find out about that?

    Oooh. That would be amazing.

    Hello!!!!!!!
I've not been here for ages. I haven't needed to have I?
Hope everyone's doing ok? Just reading some of these posts makes me remember how scared I was 5 months ago

It's flown - it really has. I don't worry about money anymore. I live within my means, too. I cope better now than I did with a credit card - or 5!!
I've had to deal with being off work for the past two months with High Blood pressure but that's getting sorted now. SSP is not nice, though.

I do have a question? When do you find out how much tax you have to pay back - with being on an NT tax code since Feb? Do they send you a bill? I have been worried about that. I've not received anything from Customs and Excise yet. I was just wondering what the process was?

Back to the hell hole tomorrow - I'm dreading it - listening to people moan about the mail all day. Ah well it's better than no job at all I suppose and I am looking for something new. Just wanted to get the health thing sorted first.
I haven't forgotten all the support I've had here and I was able to help a friend on Saturday. He's considering bankruptcy - actually, no - he is going to go bankrupt and he wanted my advice and I was glad I could help. So thank you for helping me to help someone else

Not if you haven't needed to be. :)

You should have been paying the tax that would have gone to HMRC to the OR via Clarke Wilmot.

    Has that not been happening?

If not then you should have a word with your examiner to get it sorted.

Sorry you have been off unwell, but despite that it warms our hearts to see the difference in you still. :)
