Deciding to face your problems is the hardest part, and having to make the decision to go bankrupt, once you have done that the short lived relief is replaced by a sick feeling as you make the court appearance and wait for that, then while you are waiting its a mixed bag, one day feeling relieved and light as a feather, the next at the bottom of the pit.
Court day comes and the sick feeling is definately there, but compared to the actual making of the decision to do it in the first place its a bit easier, a step further along the line. Coming out of court a huge feeling of relief its over and then a mixed bag of emotions for the next few days, and hopefully the first good nights sleep for a long time.
Mixed emotions until you get the OR interview and that sick feelings back again, then it all seems to go a bit quiet and feeling guilty that you feel relieved and are being given a fresh start without credit - a huge relief but also scarey as you realise you have no cushion at all so have to be prepared as best you can for any event - in some ways exciting but also terrifying.
I know we have struggled with debt and OH health issues for so long it really does feel that we have been reborn and although it is scarey having no access to credit which is what has kept us going for soooooo long we know deep down that although it was the last thing we wanted to do and we are in no way proud for doing it we had to for our health, familys sake and we are starting over again doing it the correct way this time and that feels good.
I hope that helps someone. I think Loopy_lou1 was just expressing the huge relief that we also felt once the court was over, compared to all the years of living in debt and worrying and not sleeping and not making the most of the children because of it and then having to face the problem headon and do something about it belive me it is a huge relief. We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!0 -

This is another to be reported IMO. Hopefully said post and accompanying troll will wiped from MSE.
I suspect it's one of the saddos that I was referring to above, and probably another member going under a new registration - and we have just seen the extent of his vocabulary.
The good news is that I have been told on the QT that MSE now have IP address tracking, and can prevent individual computers from ever logging on again, so if enough of us make a fuss he may be permanantly wiped, along with a few of his mates.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
Nasty people rarely apologise but often reconsider with maturity when something happens to them or someone they know. Until then problems with debt are something that happens to other people.
Other people aren't there when you are getting the phone calls and letters and until you have been there many people don't know how bad that can be.
Look after yourself, make things the best you can and start again. Don't let anyone make you feel less because of your situation, you are still the same person and their criticism doesn't matter.
Have a peaceful Christmas and plan your future life.0 -

If you want to play like kids start another one. I couldn't care less about online dating threads and playing with the big boys.
Start your own and leave this one please.
It might seem unimportant to you - this is MY LIFE.
THANK YOU
Hiya Lou.
I know you're probably quite sensative cos of what happened to your other thread but the online dating thing wasn't spamming. It was just people being daft which happens occasionally!
I know it can be annoying when you see stuff on your threads that doesn't seem to relate but these boards are very social - it comes from the support network side of things. Unfortunately you haven't seen much of that side and I hope that changes for you.
Hope you're doing ok and that you're still feeling positive.
Is it ok if I PM you at some point? Your outlook seems quite similar to mine and I could do with your take on some things...
*hugs*
Vicki

I'm ok - yesterday was hard. I'm finding money saving ideas - but late but I s'pose it's better late than never
I'm paying over the odds for some things and I need to cut back
I wish I'd learnt sooner to save money - I was blind
I think this has opened my eyes
Things are getting better although the guilt is still there - just wish the OR interview would hurry up and come so I can plan my life again - thanks chick x x xBSC No 60

Loopy,
We can all look back with the benefit of hindsight.
What do you feel guilty about? You've paid the price for your mistakes, it's time to move on; guilt is a negative emotion; banish it to where it belongs; in the past.
From what I've seen, you're more than capable of handling yourself in an interview; they're only human after all.

One of the things that I believe is that hindsight is a wonderful thing. Shame we can't do !!!!!! all about it!
Another thing - 330 people a day either go bankrupt or have an IVA accepted. You're not alone. Remember that, eh?

Well - have read the thread (although obviously not the missing bits) and on my first trip on to the BK board my eyes are opened!
Good luck to all and well done with dealing with the situations life ends up with - esp Loopy, and thank you for your honest account... although i can see different sides it would be ridiculous to expect you (everyone) would not be elated at successes during what is a long and stressful journey!
However, I am sorry to have to say this on a thread that has been difficult but please Hugo don't post this:"And next time you see some sucker stressing out about having to meet CC or loan repayments, you will have a smile on your face. Now that we all want to see:D"
It makes me want to cry and realise why there is no solidarity!!!
Good luck, good luck - I shall keep an eye on you all but particually good luck loopy xxxDFW Nerd #1310
