  • Thank you Graham. I'd hardly call that a chance - more of a last and I mean LAST RESORT.

I have had a chance and never again will I want a nightmare like this.

    Lou-this IS a chance!

You've only been BR a few days-the fact that you are 'DEBT-FREE' & the maximum term for yor BR is 1 year (probably more like 6-9 months with early discharge)...you're brain is still mulling it all over.

You WILL feel better soon. Took me years to do it (I'm 41-see my posts for life history!)

Your are NOT a failure-you've used legal legislation to sort things out. YOU NOW HAVE NO DEBTS. So...credit rating shot for 6 years! Big deal! Nowadays-you can get a mortgage after discharge (allbeit +2% on base rate-reverts after 2 years).

You are young-whole life ahead of you! Hold your head up high as YOU made the right decision for YOU!

I'll say it again 'YOU ARE NOW DEBT FREE!''

Ignore any negatives posted-YOU'VE DONE THE RIGHT THING! Now-if you're a strictly fan/x-factor fan get a bottle of voddy & a pizza & ENJOY! Hmm....single hey? If I was 15 years younger & you lived in West Yorks we could share the bottle !!!

  • OH MY GOD!

Strictly - I live for Strictly and X Factor. I love all the semi-finalists. I think Matt's going home and I love him. Anyway, I'll be happy if Alesha wins because she's amazing and gorgeous and funny. And Gethin because he's changed so much these last two weeks (must be Katharine Jenkins ;)) and he's WELSH like me.

OK I will have a pizza - no booze I think I have to pick up my brother in law but I will try to relax. I feel like crap but thank you.

Time to go and try and enjoy the weekend then

  • Hi BH!

I think when you do the BR thing (well certainly for me!) you get that 'elated' feeling on the day....it sort of sinks in a few days later.

I know you're not the biggest fan of BR (& after reading some of your other posts I can understand as you obviously have a nice house that you want to keep! My house that I gave keys back for has been on the market for SIX MONTHS with not a bite....sure being a single guy it was not a palace but surely it should sell?? Up at 74000 now (down from 86)...stunning pennine views/rear terrace/garden..apparently a neighbour says it's been offered at 64K ??!! In some respects glad I gave it back...could never have sold it!) but...'horror of horrors '-I do agree too! Xfactor or strictly for you? Rhydian to win!

Lou-as said earlier you are SO young....you've sorted out an impossible situation. When you reach that horrific milestone that is 30 years old (seems ages ago for me!) you WILL look back & say it was the best thing you could have done!!! Honestly, at 22 I was still acting 18......you may not have much disposable income but it's YOURS now. Go enjoy.....I'm sure a young chap will be along soon to whisk you off your feet!!!

The past has gone now-look to the future...there is no way it could be as bad as the past!

    BH....Debtmuppet??! Like it!
  • Lou....you could always rent a dvd & get a bottle of plonk for AFTER your 'taxi' rounds!!!!!

Honestly......the crap feeling will go! My OH (not much older than you at the time....DAMN that's my chance blown now you know I'm not single!!!!) did the same a few years back (why oh why did I not follow the great advice I gave her!)-her situ was very much like yours. She was fairly mortified to do it & morally felt she wanted to pay the money back-but due to work contracts, etc she could not.

She felt like you do for a few days & then one day a 'lightbulb' moment, she realised 'no more phone calls/letters/stress/worry/ & was quite 'happy' with what she'd done and more importantly the future!

That Italian knob of a judge off strictly was on Saturday Kitchen today & used the 'f' word LIVE! Poor James Martin (who was on strictly before!) had to apologise!

    Hi squirrel,

You're not using BT Broadband by any chance? If you click the "Keep me logged in" box after you've typed in your password that should do it, or go on line through I.E rather than through your Internet Provider's Icon.

I've had the same problem and I don't think its a fault on the site.
