Pot Smoking Neighbours

Police can issue a warning or an on-the-spot fine of £90 if you're found with cannabis

To be honest this is more about who agrees with cannabis being smoked and who does not, there is a similar thread about passive smoke.
Irrespective of how the police deal with it upon assessing the situation, they still need to assess the situation.
If it is bothering you op, report it as suspecting illegal activity.0 -
And even if the police were interested - what do you think the outcome is likely to be? The neighbours aren't going to be locked up, and I doubt they'll give up their habit.0

Let's not get too carried away! Sounds like they're smoking a bit of weed, not running a crack den!!0 -
The police won’t care.
Even if they did pay them a visit (which they won’t), they can’t enter without a warrant. And no police force would apply for a warrant (nor would it be granted) for a bit of personal weed smoking.1 -
Be thankful they're smoking that and aren't aggressive drunks.
Nothing to do with you what goes on, but a friendly chat to see if they can block up cracks/entry points would be a good way forward. I'm sure you do stuff to annoy them too, they're causing you nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
Don't ring the police and tell them it's a crack den and they've got weapons for Christ sake. They've got more pressing concerns.0 -

What can you do if your neighbours are smoking cannabis?
If you suspect your neighbours are smoking weed in their house you have the right to contact the police.
Your anonymous tip-off will probably ensure that your neighbour gets a knock on their door.
This will result in a search of their property if the officers share your suspicions.
They could be charged if they are found to be in possession of cannabis, although this is all dependent on their previous convictions.
However
As the punishments suggest, it's completely illegal to smoke weed anywhere in Britain - including on your own property.
However, some police forces have taken a more laid-back attitude to the recreational drug, which is believed to be the most popular in the UK.
Prosecution rates for cannabis possession are as low as 15 per cent in Cornwall and Devon, while Durham Police have said they will no longer target recreational users at all. It's nothing , not nothink.0 -

I don't think the police will care. I live in central London and I often see drug dealing quite often with police officers nearby and nothing gets done.
Have you tried the human approach? Knock on the door and kindly tell them that the smell is affecting you and whether they can do it somewhere that the smell doesn't travel up? Alternatively you could write a letter and leave it at the door. I think that'll have a much better result0 -

In general, I doubt they'd get a warrant based on the word of one neighbour. Too much scope for malicious reports.0
