Decided to get on early and wish everyone a good morning otherwise chorus and real life take up all the day and you realise you missed catching up again:(

Forgot to also thank MT/Doc as some coupons turned up Monday in post :Tbut by time I got home from DS school it was 10pm and i was shattered so only just getting round to checking it.

Had my 2nd £3 from Pinecone so used that at KFC last night before cinema went to see The Big Wedding that was hilarious, made a change from all the recent shooting and explosion films of recent.

Ugh, we have a lot of those too - most put in before we moved in so thankfully the soil more or less holds its own shape as the boarders are all raised. We did plan to replace a lot of the wood this year in the garden but house is being painted instead.

Oh, btw, Ronseal fence sprayer does not do exactly what it says on the tin and will be returned to HB this week. Consequently, me and OH were channeling our inner Karate Kid's today and painting the fence....lots of it. In fact more or less run out of paint and need to get another 2.5l (which I've just found cheaper in ScewF!x than HB - even if I'd bought 2 in the first place to match the 5l we have used  Nevermind, can't take it off the fence now :rotfl: - oh and they don't stock the 5l so no chance of buying it cheaper and then returning on my HB receipt - as if I would :A)

Hard work, but at least will look great when all finished seems to revive the whole garden when you painted and treated the fence panels.

Thanks for asking AH. Mum is doing OK ish. Dreading next week as it will be the anniversary of dad's death, so think that will be really difficult for her.

Am finding she is quite happy in her own home and all she wants to do is come with me to the supermarkets and go to M&S for her pot of tea and toasted teacake. Sometimes though if I want to be out for longer then she will have some sandwiches in M&S too, but I can't get her to eat anywhere else. Did try House of Fraser a few weeks back, but she said can we go back to M&S next week!
Doesn't matter to me, so long as she is happy. Took her shopping yesterday but hubby stayed at home to finish tiling kitchen walls. Brought mum back to have tea with us, but she really wasn't that bothered. Said I wanted her to see my kitchen, so she agreed. Plan was we had early (for us) tea to keep her happy with meal/tablet timing, then go for a walk (well push the wheelchair) as we live less than 5 minutes from the coast. As soon as she had finished tea, she said when are you taking me home !

When we left, she did however say thank you for a lovely day, so guess she enjoyed it, although I feel we could do so much more.

Just re-read that and sounds like a real rant - sorry didn't mean to be.

Off out now to do my own shopping. Can't do mine at the same time as mum's, too distracting!

SND I didn't read it as a rant and completely understand where you coming from. Think as they get older they very much enjoy the same routine it seems to give them some sort of comfort from the sameness:o shame when the weather so nice she can't be up for enjoing it a bit more. We used to laugh at DMIL when she wanted to go she would just get her house keys and keep playing with them in her hands without saying a word that became the signal she had had enough.

It will be a hard time for you all next week not just your mum on your Dads anniversary just make sure you allow yourself some quite reflection time away from the stress of getting through the day maybe make sure you fit in a yoga session as that seems to be what you enjoy and will allow you some quiet time.:A

Afternoon all. Not been on thread for a bit. Very busy, still on holiday but at home decorating dD1's bedroom, putting down new block paving on front garden. That's finished now and we have a nice raised area at the side for plants and flowers, would hate it all to be blocks. Picking FD up from school club soon then off out for a family meal.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D

Had a rotten day so far.

My son is in hospital. He went to the doctor as he has been having antibiotics for an infected toe and the doctor phoned the hospital and we had to go straight there and he was admitted.

He is on iv antibiotics and they will operate on his toe either tonight or tomorrow to drain the infection.

I just hope they sort the infection out soon, his toe looks really bad.

The builder is coming tomorrow afternoon to start the pointing as well, so a busy day tomorrow too.

    Take care all

CW - Sorry to hear about DS, hope they can get his toe better asap. And keeping everything crossed for the builder tomorrow, what a pain that has been for you xx

Touched up all the bits of that s*dding fence today that OH pointed out had been missed (he's very helpful like that *rolls eyes*) and windows have been properly cleaned for the first time in...well....longer than I care to admit. Can actually see out of them now! (and see where they need cleaning inside :rotfl:)

Hope you're all enjoying sunny weather, it's lovely to get out in the garden and see everything starting to bloom after everything being grey for so long. Gives you that happy to be alive kinda glow (ok, less Jane Austin books for me :rotfl:)
