My son has been sent home from hospital.

He had his x rays done early this morning and then he had his operating gown and had been starved and nothing to drink this morning all ready for the operation on his toe when an emergency came in.

The emergency admission, a young man, 30 ish, was given my sons operating slot. We are not annoyed as it really was a life or death emergency.

The young man who came in was with his mum and his wife, but he might not survive. :(He was on holiday in the Philipines for 4 weeks and on his last day he jumped in the swimming pool for one last dip even though he had a tiny blister on his foot. He then packed his case and they went to the airport. By the time they landed back in the UK his foot was completely black and his mum said he had to go straight to hospital. :( The doctor said they will have to amputate the foot and maybe even amputate his leg but even then its life or death. So in the space of 24 hours that young man has had his life completely ruined.

When we left the hospital at tea time the lad was still in the operating theatre.

So my son has very strong antibiotics and goes back on Monday as they only deal with emergencies over the weekend.

Great to have him home again though and just got to remind him not to miss his antibiotics.

The toe was injured in February during that bad snow we had. He dropped a wheelie bin that he was trying to lift over the snow drift and the edge of the bin landed on his toe. Anyway the toe got sore and infected and was bleeding and my son couldn't bear anything on his toe so the doctor put him on antibiotics to try and get rid of the infection, that was in April and he has had repeated antibiotics ever since.

So we have to wait and see what happens on Monday.

Good evening everyone just quick catch up.

CW hope DS has had the OP if was needed so he now recovering. Haven't read posts so not sure if you may have updated how DS was already just wanted to wish him speedy recovery

Just bkd into our TL at Covent Garden. Blue they now routinely put 4 pillows per double bed and not as flat as normal either. Think this is currently in middle of refurb as remember them sending an email few months back so hopefully we got a new mattress. Can't believe it thou someone has already broken the bedside table thing of the wall.

DH has given me our wedding anniversary present early still don't know why he didn't keep it until Sunday. He has booked a day highland tour in Scotland, can include whiskey tour & the best bit tickets in the evening for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo which I have wanted to do for years. All I have to do is sort accommodation, had a quick look at Radisson as we have a loyalty card for them eeek 1 night Edinburgh £384 yet Glasgow £116 lol DH said for difference can stay there and pay taxi would still be cheaper. So when have more time will check frequency of trains for getting back to Glasgow at night. Knew it would be expensive as they have the Fringe Festival also on that month.

Oops they back now went to get bottled water for room now we off for something to eat and enjoy London night life.

They charge crazy money during festival its totally nuts!
We are not ver central(we live pretty close to the bypass) but if your struggling your welcome at chez fungal(that so does not sound right) ;)
    I'm sure OH wont mind.
