Churchmouse Forget it. The last thing you need is a box of wispa's. Darcy hates plump hens. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Darcy can be grateful for what he can get:rotfl: But looks like Shez has gone offline so I'll probably not get the answer anyway.

    Who said I was after wispas?:rotfl: :o:o

No, I'm here CM! although looks like you've gone offline now, anyway you might see this post tomorrow!

Yes there are 2 costco's this side of the river (the posh better side:p:rotfl:)
There is one at lakeside, thurrock (A13) and there's one at chingford (up A406 North Circ). I can get to both within the same time difference 15 mins, but prefer Chingford as it's newer and cleaner and less busy than lakeside.

If you get there when they open at 10am you get free coffee and cakes! yum:D and the brioche is to die for!!;) but you have to do an extra half hour in the gym afterwards:rotfl:

Membership price is £23 for trade, not sure what it is for individuals. It might say on their website.

    HTHx

ps: they also sell boxes of those "freddo" little chocolate bars! (Remember them?)

:j :T:j :T :money: :money: :money:   Many thanks to Martin and all the Team for getting the site back up and running once again - great job folks and congratulations - keep fighting the good fight!

I don't about the rest of our posters, but I certainly had serious withdrawal symptoms over the weekend.

Haven't had a chance to thoroughly read all the posts but would like to offer my sympathy to Mioliere and family on the loss of your mother-in-law.

Welcome back to Pen pin - great to see you back home and posting your pearls of wisdom once more.

Once again thanks to everybody for your kind comments and wishes on my dgd2 - Caitlin. She gave us some concerns regarding slow feeding for a couple of days - but following change of teat to Medium Flow - there's no stopping her now! She has also slept right through for a couple of nights - so lucky daughter!

For everybody else, please accept :grouphug: where needed; :jfor all who have done well and are proud of themselves and :T to everybody who has offered useful advice to the rest of us Old-Syle 'L' plate users!

What I've noticed most of all since learning tips from this site is that my throwaway rubbish has now halved. I only have one black bin bag per week instead of the usual two full ones. I AM saving money and making the most of left-over food by freezing for meals later in the week. Tonight we had Souse from two weeks ago that I had frozen - and it always tastes better after the flavours have had a chance to really merge. Yesterday it was left-over chilli (from about three weeks ago) served over Jacket Spuds.

My biggest waste recently has been a veggie box. There was FAR too much stuff in it for our immediate use. I should have blanched and frozen everything BUT am in the process of running down the freezer to defrost. It wasn't cheap either - £14.00 plus £3.00 delivery charge. Have heard though that we have now got a Community Veggie Van in our area - so will be able to take advantage of that. Although I say that there was far too much in the veggie box - there were only 4lbs of potatoes and 2 onions along with large bag of black kale, a cauliflower, a savoy cabbage, 1 very small swede, 1kg carrots, 1kg beetroot, 2 leeks, 3 flat mushrooms, 2 sweetcorn, 1 enormous parsnip (very woody in the middle!) and 2 heads of broccoli. Oh well it was worth a try! Lesson learned!!

Taplady I know exactly which slice she made. Did she have passionfruit icing on top? Baby showers are popular here. I never had any with my 3, but I've been to lot's. Do you have anything that's equivilant?

I didn't try it but it looked fabulous, really squishy! the icing was pale yellow with bits:confused: of something in it, will ask her when I see her.I was full up after a huge choccie eclair!:D Not been to a baby shower before, thought it was an American thing. The baby had the most beautiful crocheted(sp) booties on sent to him from Aussieland, made by her Auntie, and he also has some sort of furry booties that are supposed to be good in both winter and summer.
