Hello! I haven't read the thread yet so hope everyone is reasonably okay. Just wanted to say how good it is to "see" you all again - although I wasn't up to posting I was reading the thread most days and missed it terribly, as I'm sure we all did.

Best wishes to anyone with a birthday over the past 2 weeks or so, and commiserations (sp?) to anyone who's not well or going through a difficult time (thinking of you Mioliere).

I must confess to not being very OS atm, as not up to doing much cooking and we've eaten all the HM "ready meals" in the freezer so dinner tonight is a Cornish pasty for me (good healthy food!) and an Asda pizza for DH :o but have some chicken left from Sunday when I managed to do a roast, so tomorrow we'll have chicken curry - even if I have to instruct DH on how to cook it!

We've got 2 poorly DGSs atm. DGS 13yo is just starting to get over the worst tonsillitis he's ever had, and his little cousin, DGS 14mo, who is walking unaided but sometimes goes too fast for his feet to keep up with his brain, grabbed his bedroom radiator to steady himself last Friday and burnt his hands! DD2 was so upset as she hadn't realised how hot it was, though tbh it wouldn't have burnt a grown-up. She'd only turned her back for a few seconds to wrap his dirty nappy! Anyway, he's got his hands bandaged atm, though he's coping quite well and they seem to be healing well. If he can't do something because of the bandages he gets aomeone else to do it!

DD2 in the meantime has only 7 weeks until her new baby's due, so she bought a dressing gown to use in hospital and afterwards. It's red, with a hood. When she put it on in front of her husband he went "HO HO HO!" and said that if she went into hospital with that on they'd all expect presents! :D She felt like throwing something at him, but couldn't help laughing (Nor could we when she told us!):p Oh well, better go now and put this exciting pasty in the oven! Will catch up with the rest of the thread while it's cooking.

    Evening all,

a quiet night here tonight - haven't heard any kids going about halloween rhyming, so maybe they're saving it all for tomorrow. Then again, we didn't have that many last year so maybe they've all decided not to bother

Dinner out tonight for a treat - a lovely place in town does a carvery meal for £3.50 so went there to 'splurge' some of my birthday money, which was very nice :D We went to the cinema yesterday and saw 'stardust' which was a good movie - we haven't been to the cinema in ages so was great. Caught an early evening show though so back before 8pm :p

WM is due to go on again soon, and need to tidy up the kitchen a bit before bed tonight. got quite a bit done when I was off work last week, so a *little* more up to date now.

*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please.....
