    Morning all

:money: Well done Martin and the techy team - It's good to have the site back!

Mioliere - Sorry to hear about your loss - hugs to you.

PP - Sorry to hear you're feeling grotty still - hope the new chickens settle in well.

Hugs to the rest in need this morning.

As like many others I missed the site like mad but it did give me the kick I needed to get on with the packing - we get the keys on Friday - whooohooooo.

Was great to catch up with some of you on facebook too - that's another site that eats time.

    Right - plans for today:

All the removable bits of the oven are in the DW - shall clean the rest of it out in a bit and pull it out and do the sides (yuck) There's a built in oven where we're moving too so ours will go in storage in the garage for now, it can't leave the house looking like it does now though - blugh!

Need to make chicken soup for tea along with a loaf,
Take down the rest of the living room curtains, hang them on the line and give them a good beat before packing them and cleaning the windows.

Pack the cupboard under the tv and sort the filing cabinet, clear the filing and tatt that's on the pc desk.

Oh and clear out the fireplace - will need a fire tonight as it's chilllllyyyyy here today.

Hope you all have a great day.

  • Good morning :hello:

Condolences to your family Moliere x

    Catowen....Glad you're enjoying the lappy!!

Twink and Pen Pen.....Enjoy work. ;)

Well I don't get on much at the weekends anyway so only really missed the site yesterday. Weekend was less than productive but I'm getting back on track now.

Downstairs is clean and tidy now and just the beds to make upstairs. Last night's chicken is boiling for stock and I'm going to make broth later. As I'm trying to get rid of all the bits and bobs in the freezer we're having chicken and mushroom vol au vents for tea.

Serious moneysaving here atm as finances have hit a rocky patch. Oh the joys of self employment. So I'm on the lookout for seriously thrifty recipes for a few weeks if Santa is going to come this year. I can't believe how many people are so organised for Christmas.

My folks are coming over in a few weeks and the lady whose B and B they usually stay in has bought a posh hotel at the end of our road. When I phoned to book their room she invited me down for a nosy of the hotel and a coffee so I'm looking forward to that this afternoon. :D
Then the girls and I will bake some gingerbread bats for halloween and make some decorations.

Where's Aussie? Is there a time delay in getting the site going in Lamb Island?:p

Hi, well this is my 2nd post I have been reading every day. (But not lurking it sounds creepy), been off work now 13 weeks so have not had a lot to say
I would like to say that its great that the forum is back up and running I did not realise how addicted I had become.

Here goes, today is doing to be a slow day just usual putting the dw on wm make tea for OH and give the cat a bit of attention he needs lots
I went out yesterday with a friend and bought 2 jumpers, 2 tops and a scarf not very os I know but it only cost £34 in total I have not been out much lately but suffered for my treats as my feet hurt so much I went to bed early.

Hugs to every one who needs them and hope every one has a good day
  • I'm feeling all relieved that we're still back online. Well done to Martin and his team. Still can't access the site through my bookmarks, this time I had to come via Pigpen's(?) link on facebook (which I only discovered once the site was back on last night). Just getting over my withdrawal symptons at the expense of my ironing!

Good to see you all x

<<Miolierie>>Sorry to hear about your MIL.

    <<PenPin>>

Haven't finished reading the thread, will pop back later. We have a minor flood in the kitchen, and I'm using the PC to email DH for advice on how to get the kitchen plinths off. I've located and fixed the source of the flood, but I am running out of newspaper and cloths/towels for the mopping up. Or plinths don't just clip in, and they have special rubbery bit on the bottom... and that is keeping much of the flood water uder the cupboards.

    Back soon
  • :money: :money: :money: :money: :money: :money: :money: Well done team!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly, how great is it to see everyone again???!!!!!! I dont post much on here, I use to, then I stopped.....cos I dont do half as much as what some of you lot do...you all put me to shame:D I lurk instead now, but blimey, I have missed reading your daily posts.

Thank goodness for Facebook........great to see so many familiar names over there.

So in the time honoured tradition that is old style........I have done !!!!!! all, apart from made breakfast, packed lunch for DS1, seen DS1 off to school and then sat here clicking refresh every couple of mins.....see, I told you I did nowt, compared to you lot:rotfl:

    Enjoy your day folks:beer:
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

:p would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing :o
  • I was cooking all weekend at Cub camp (in a lovely industrial size kitchen - bit different from normal:D ) and determined to give them OS food from scratch. Sat night was spag bol from scratch which went down well, with garlic bread (although one kid announced he was allergic to bolognaise - reply from leaders - your parents haven't put it on your pc form, tough. He had plain spaghetti with cheese!) It was HM meringues for pudding with fruit and squirty cream - and we had to have a tasting session for meringues, as a lot of them had never seen one before. Still, once tasted they were pretty keen.

However I'm still recovering from Sunday lunch. I did a roasted chicken drumstick each with mash, peas, carrots and gravy. Half of them didn't seem to recognise it as chicken as it wasn't in nugget form, and then they couldn't cope with eating it on the bone, even though we said they could use their fingers and there were some kids showing them how to do it. There was so much left on some bones that I stripped it all off and brought it home for the dog - it'll do him 4 meals:eek: . Then there were the ones that didn't do veg, the ones that have trouble sitting at a table and using a knife and fork.......

And we're planning a 5 day camp next Easter! I'm in menu planning mode already - I refuse to give in to the processed food brigade! Still the leaders and most of the kids enjoyed it.

Sorry about the rant - but I thought you'd all understand! Quiet day today - ds1 has some homework, I have an ironing mountain and I need to finish a matinee coat for a colleague of dh, whose wife had a baby a couple of weeks ago. We might go swimming later. Chicken risotto tonight - there was a chicken breast leftover from camp (not off the Cub's plates  ) and a bit of bacon from Sun breakfast, so I'll use that up.

    Have a nice day everyone

We made piadines last night for tea (stuffed with roast chicken, roast peppers and chilli sauce). DS said that he's going to ask if he and his foodie friend can make them for the next Scout camp - they're fed up with tinned hot dogs

    Morning All

    Condolences to Miolierie and family

Lots of (((hugs))) to Pen Pin

My back is agony, I slipped on a toy on Sunday, my legs shot in the air and I landed on my tailbone. I can't sit on anything soft so I'm off work.

Plans for the day is to catch up on MSE. The WM, DW and Slow Cooker are already on.

    Have a good day everyone
