Hi Hutch and thank you
please feel free to stick around
keep at it, it will happen for you
My month has taken a little bit of an unexpected hit - I had to go to the hairdresser   I put a dye on my hair yesterday and it ended up with a very definite orange colour£50 later and I am back blonde again :rotfl:
The lack of overtime at work lasted 3 days :rotfl: :rotfl: so hopefully I'll be putting the max away this month- taking me over £5K :j :j a year ago I had £162 put away so I'm very pleased with how much I have now. When I did a forecast when I started, I thought I'd only have £3KI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Sorting out an orange hair do is definitely a necessary use of your savings! A friend of mine had her hair dyed blue by a trainee hairdresser when we were teenagers. As she was already blonde, the hairdresser decided she didn't need to bleach her hair first and it came out bright green (actually, rather a nice green I thought but certainly not what she'd wanted!!!).
That's fantastic news at being so far ahead of where you were hoping to be in terms of savings, congratulations!! And that's fab news about the overtime being available again :beer:MFW2023 challenge #99: £1090.11 / £1,000 MFiT-T6 (Jan 2022 - Jan 2025) challenge #99: Reduce mortgage to £400,000. Well done at being so ahead of target. I've not managed to read through the whole thread but how much are you hoping to have, and by when?0

I was looking at £20K in 5 years initially and I guess that's still my target but for now I'm as much as possible as soon as possible :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Big news in my little world - I've been offered another job
It's more pay which can go in the pot, more holiday which is never a bad thing, less travelling expenses which can also go in the pot, within walking/cycling distance so hopefully will lose me some weight and much less stress which again, is never a bad thing :rotfl:
The only "drawback" I can see is that as I've had to wear a uniform for 3 years and I've not been spending any uneccesary money on clothes, I will have to budget some money from April's pay to buy some new clothes :rotfl: :rotfl: Primarni here I come :rotfl:
This months payday will see me pass £5K which I am over the moon with. Someone at work has been saving for a similar amount of time and there are two of them and they have half of what I have. It made me feel a bit bad for her but very good for me :jI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Hello Dizzy, the money spent at the hairdressers was an essential. I am so glad your hair is back to its normal colour again. Tremendous congratulations on the savings £5000! holy moly. :j:beer::money:Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

That's amazing news on the job front, congratulations!!! Though I must admit, for me having more holiday days would probably wipe out the extra pay on the extra travelling I'd want to doMFW2023 challenge #99: £1090.11 / £1,000 MFiT-T6 (Jan 2022 - Jan 2025) challenge #99: Reduce mortgage to £400,000. Hello all :hello:
How is everyone?
New job started and going well so far but it's only been a week :rotfl: savings are a bit weird this month because of the change in pay dates, but that's probably just as well because my last employer screwwed me over and left me very little for this month  still sitting nicely at just over 5K though do I'm ok with that.
What I'm not ok with though is that my brother has been diagnosed with terminal cancermy moving back home plans are on hold because my brother is going to go back home at some point. My savings look like they're going to take a battering because I'm the only one in my family who has enough to cover the eventuality
On the upside, I'll be able to save more money by walking to and from work - in 4 days last week I walked 30 miles :rotfl: I did drive on Friday becaus the weather was hideous :rotfl: Pretty soon I'll be able to figure out how much money I'll be able to put away each month. One of my saving accounts is about to mature and I need to move it to one that pays a similar amount of interestI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Hurrah for new job and walking- it will make you fit and hopefully you will have new work colleagues and a nicer environment. :jI am so sorry about your brother's illness. That is v hard news to deal with for all of you. I hope he is able to have good days where you can enjoy your time together. :A:A
I am cross about your old employer and withholding your salary. It is horrid when they keep your hard earned money - that happened to one of my friends last year and she couldn't do anything about it. I would be in debt if it happened to me which is why it is good you have savings. :j
Have a good week. The weather's going to be v wet.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
