Hiya Katie
Good luck with this hun, and hope the FLA help.
Let us know and if any problems let us know and we can try to figure on another direction here.
However if you decide to use claims companies, make sure you do not go for the ones who charge for upfront charges - there are a few that you can use free.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
The FLA is useless except for finance involving cars, vans, caravans etc.
The majority of companies are not registered with the FLA including most large companies.
What we really need is some more reliable direction on what to to after receiving your final response letter, of who to complain to next, without this many complaints are just going to be swept under the carpet as no one knows who to contact next.
Martin if you read this we need some expert advice.0 -

Hi Natalie,
Sorry i disappointed you with my reply.I telephoned the financial ombudsman who confirmed to me that they cannot look into any complaints with black horse until after january 14th 2005.I had two loans from them in 2003 & 2004 & paid over £800 for insurance i did not need as i was unemployed but the girl that arranged the loans insisted i could not have the loans unless i had the insurance. The F.O.S. suggested i contacted the FLA.Just to make sure i was not going to be wasting my time i telephoned them first & they confirmed that if i filled the complaints form in,they will definately investigate as they deal with lloyds tsb who black horse are a part of.I am not holding out much hope to be honest but as i said before,at least there is some hope.Regards-Martin0 -
I just think that there should be a straightforward procedure like there is for claims regulated by FSA as too many companies are getting away with murder because they can as no one seems to know the correct procedure.0

I agree totally.I am very disappointed with the way things are.I thought i could get one back on black horse as i was treated as an outcast because i was unemployed but it looks like they are going to get away with it after all.I will keep trying though as you never know.0

hi all, nat it is not true about caravans ext they regulate personal & secured loans through different companies. these companies pay membership too the fla too regulate them. thats why their a waste of time with a complaint their onesided too their paying members.
there is a lot of conflicking advice on the forums about this & other things, i just wish people would spend more time looking at old posts too get a feel of the situation before giving out advice. their is plenty advice already posted.
if you google mis-sold ppi their are solicitors offering to take your claim no win no fee. if your going to beat these banks spend a bit more time finding out what your up against.
good luck too all.0 -
All we are asking for is some clear guidelines of how to proceed with our complaints, surely there are other ways of sorting out the situation in our favour without involving solicitors or the courts as both can prove costly, if you are trying to reclaim, the chances are that you are in extreme need of the money & can ill afford to pay anyway.
If we let these robbers get away with it they will continue to provide a rip off service to other customers.0 -

if your dealing with claims yourself & cant use the FOS these companies send you too the FLA knowing they will not help you. therefore expecting you too go away. the only other action is taking them to court yourself or by a solicitor. there are claims companies aswell, which i would not advise to use.
as i have said the solicitors are claiming their fees off the companies involved so you get 100% of your claim. so it is not expensive & you get the expert help needed.0 -

I agree with you, but the sad fact is that there is nowhere else to proceed to if the FOS or FLA can't help, court is the only other option.
I have 3 PPI complaints that the FOS couldn't help with , out of these the FLA said the company had done nothing wrong, the next company had not been regulated until 2007 and there was no one to turn to and the final one my claim is over £5000 and is with a solicitor.]DS1 12/10/04
