have just started a dispute with volkswagon finance, as i have realised they missold me PPI as part of a car loan.. I am self employed, which it says on the document i signed, but someone, the salesman i think.. ticked the PPI box.. not me.. so far they are refusing to repay me and saying I agreed to it as i signed the form.. my point is that as I'm self employed it is useless to me, and should never have been sold to me.. I'm just looking for support on this.. have tried the ombudsman, but back in 2004 when i took the loan out, V.F weren't regulated so they can't help me.. have emailed the FLA. is there anything else i can do?? i'm on a low income, so need this money i have unthinkingly paid.. back!!

    Hi there

Sorry to hear this, its so frustrating when they were not covered, and of course its something that has only come about in the media the last recent years to what I know of.

I hope the FLA are able to help, but instead of emailing them, I would ring them for a quicker response, just to make sure the company are listed with them.

I have also sent you a pm, good luck with this.;)

Hi Di. The lady further up was having huge problems trying to get through on the phone. You said about sending letter recorded if you remember. I wonder though If anybody can help and let us have a number that they were successful getting through to. Or if anybody has any other suggestions re FLA.

    Hiya Max

Arh I see. I know sometimes they can be difficult to get hold of, not sure when Simon from the above thread got through to them today or not, but he did inform me he has his claim registered with FLA after getting in touch with them.

I remember I was in this position, we did finally get through, but it had taken a while.

I did also send the above a pm.;)

  • thabks.. sorry to be dense, am new to this.. whats a pm?? and where is it?? does anyone have a phone number for FLA??
  • Hi all,

My first post on this forum.

Dec. 2004 I took a loan with GE Woodchester, I was told that the loan would be approved if I took out the PPI even though I told them that I was self employed.

To cut a long story short, I now know that this was incorrect and I filed a complaint for mis selling & requested a refund - within four days of posting my letter I had a reply stating that they had 'fully' investigated my complaint and rejected it stating that they weren't regulated at the time so basically tough! My second letter came back with a reply that if I wasnt happy then I should complain to the FLA - reading this forum it seems this line is a complete waste of time.

I have since had my agreement looked at and it appears to have serious flaws making it unenforceable even in a court, this has been pointed out to GE and the response was that my continous complaints are unjust and again take it to the FLA.

Anyone recommend no win no fee solicitors or agreement checkers (by PM of course) as this is the only way I feel I can take on GE.

    Hi there

    A PM is a private message.....:D ;) . Your not dense.:A ;) X

    FLA here:
    http://www.fla.org.uk/fla/contact/index.jsp
There is a form you can complete or tel number on the right hand side, I would ring for the quickest method for response.;)

I am in the same situation with my claim with M & S money & find that I am constantly finding myself at a dead end with my case as I can't go to FOS.

Please Martin give us some help on a standard course of action - like you have if you wish to take a case to FOS as we are being given contradicting information, no one seems to have firm ideas of what our next steps should be.

If anyone else has firm & tested knowledge of what we shoud be doing please let us know on this thread & not through PM as the advice given could help more than the person who has been contacted.

If companies were not regulated sometimes the only course of action is moneyclaim on line or court, but both of these are expensive.

    hi, pinknico
yes your right there is other action to take, solicitors are taking these complaints on now, easy money for them they claim off the other person, you get 100% of your claim so it is not expensive.

I think the claims have to be over £5000 for that? Not sure though!:D
