ermmmmm - might have busted the 'drinks' budget. Bought 6 magnums of Prosecco (like you do). It seemed like a good deal. Gave a magnum to my daughter, to share with her friends, as it's her birthday today (she hardly drinks) and it's my birthday at the end of the month. Not really one for 'personal celebrations, but I'm being pressured - lol - we shall see. Anyway, just opened a bottle and had a glass (just the one, not finished it) - n i'm feeling quite drunk, wine goes straight to my head. I'm doing homeless outreach tonight - so loads of coffee in order. For anyone interested, the Prosecco tastes lovely - I'm not too into wine, so it could be awful - it's £10 for a magnum in Morrisons. I honestly think they got the price wrong, didn't see it on their website n the shelves are being cleared. ANYWHO - £1 spent on some grapes. I'm not going to count the wine into my monthly spend, it's going on social/birthday fund. I'm going to reduce my alcohol budget for the month to £20 though. Have a lovely w/e everyone - i'm off to sober up ...... lol.

Can I be perfectly honest and say I got the idea from one of Wagamama's veggie options (although they use egg to bind the breadcrumbs so is isn't actually vegan... my son had it on our last visit and said it was lovely). I still don't know how I'll approach it... most of my cooking is just making it up as I go :D

Just finished making my lentil & Mushroom rolls for lunch... gonna go write it up on the recipe thread because they smell divine :heart2:

Hi Fox Face you could try binding the breadcrumbs on with aquafaba or plant milk - your meal plan looks amazing.

I have sent £10.58 this afternoon on fruit and veg, 2 x soya milk and a loaf of bread.

£6.40p spent today on a little treat of Chip Shop chips :D

Had a lovely afternoon at the beach (you will begin to realise I spend a LOT of time at the beach :p) and decided that as I am currently almost £50 under budget for the last two weeks, that we would have a little take out treat :)

We've decided as a family that Saturday night takeout might need to be a thing, for any week we remain under budget. It's an incentive to stay under budget but also means we get to have something nice, to counter all the other stuff we are doing without ;)

Hope everyone had a lovely Saturday!

    :hello: regulars, newbies and returners.

Week 1 spends of £0.94 (Co-op for milk), £9.10 (market) and £16.71 (Sainsburys), so a total of £28.75 and x5 NSDs. Did well with the Sainsburys shop as I had a £4 MOC, 3 other small MOCs and a fair few items I needed were on promo. There were quite a lot of ys items to be had but, after a rummage, I decided I didn't really need any of them so walked away feeling very virtuous! :rotfl:

I have an online order booked for delivery next Tuesday and that should come in at just under £40. This is for the heavy and bulky items that I need to stock up on. Again, I have a £4 MOC to use and delivery will be free as I've got a £1 delivery slot that will be paid for with a £1 refund voucher that I got last month on a substituted item.

I've done a meal plan for the coming week and honestly don't think I will need any shopping for the rest of the month, other than F&V and milk. No excuses for yet more shopping when the fridge, freezer and cupboards are chocca. :o And I can use the time saved on not shopping on some much needed de-cluttering. ;)

Have a good weekend everyone! :)
Be kind to others and to yourself too.

NSD here, mainly due to working and painting as soon as I got home!
Trying to use up a few things before buying more, for tea I had crisp breads with soft cheese and beetroot (while eating left over sweet corn out the fridge container) :rotfl:
Still not totalled up.. :o must sort it!

    Morning all :)

I've just been sat working out next week's menu plan

Thank you FoxFace, you've inspired me to get menu planning. Love the sound of the falafel burgers and have found a recipe on goodfood I can follow. And Mushroom Carbonara sounds yum - particularly as I've quite a few mushrooms left over from the pasta bake last night. btw the Aldi mushrooms (from Somerset) are soooo tasty - I'd forgotten what a proper mushroom tasted like. Recipe I've found on Mr T's website is for Spinach and Mushroom Carbonara- the extra veg. will go down well with DD.

So it looks like this (with a few details to be ironed out):
    Sun: Paella
    Mon: Spinach and Mushroom Carbonara
    Tuesday: HM soup and rolls
Weds: Jacket Potatoes, [STRIKE]Beans and Cheese[/STRIKE] Samosa style (just found the recipe from you Fox Face)
Thurs: Falafel burgers, salsa, salad and pittas and chips (HM?)(or HM Pizza or Pie)
    Friday: Veggie Curry

The budget is over £200 already but I've managed to pull in another £100 to the budget so we'll be okay as long as I keep focussed. I think I may have to give in and work to £300 while I'm still working on my meal planning techniques :)

That looks lovely, ss. I would need to play around with it because of the cream and parmesan, but will think about giving it a go :)

Thank you BTDT, I've found another one without the cream, although it does have white wine instead :D and bacon (which I guess could be left out?).

Hello All. Not doing too well sticking to the budget so I will need to be extra careful for the next few weeks. I have done my usual aldi/Lidl shop then the Sains shop for bits I can't get elsewhere like nut milks. Also had a money off voucher to use. So at present I am at £238.40. That leaves me with £70 for each of the three weeks. Sounds good on paper but we will have to see about reality.

Tonight I should be batch cooking the shepherdless pie, all being well. It will work out much cheaper than the lovely Linda Mac pies.

Hope everyone else is doing better! Xx
