Thanks Elsiepac and K9's, it's nice to see you again :)

I haven't put anything on the recipe thread lately, but I will keep adding to it if people want me to :)

Just logging another NSD for today... had some HM carrot and coriander soup for lunch, which was made with a 25p bag of YS Organic carrots and a vegan lasagne with 44p roasted veg, passata and some quinoa for bulk and protein. Will try and remember exactly how I made it as I prepped it yesterday!

Hope everyone's Monday has been a good one :) x

Got all YS items today in work - Tetley teabags (tried Aldi decaffeinated, and they are just not the same), crumpets, a brocxolli and cauliflower. I think this was £2.98. I paid by card, but our tills don't give the receipt automatically any more, and i forgot to ask for one; so i will have to check the bank when it comes out, and adjust if necessary

Had a takeaway tonight  Was late from work and was just too tempted.

Tomorrow is a new day and there will be no more take aways or getting home late from work :T:T

edit - unless its because I'm busy shopping for YS items :)

    Morning everyone :)

Hoping for another NSD here, won't log it just yet as it's early and you never know what might happen later in the day ;)

Lunch today is a simple beans on toast, and am making a tagine this evening... thank goodness for my menu plan keeping me on track!

    Good afternoon All

Isn’t it a glorious afternoon? I’m sitting in my kitchen, looking at the garden, listening to my combi-oven doing all the hard cooking-work. Dinner tonight is toad in the hole, made with Lidl’s Bratwurst out of the freezer and a simple batter. The side will be the remains of a head of broccoli.

I have two spends to declare. £5.46 in Lidl incurred on Saturday when DH was left to his own devices regarding dinner. He opted for salmon fillets, potato salad and a green salad, so bought small potatoes, a mixed salad, mayo (why? We already have a jar.), plus ice-cream and chocolate for desert.

The second spend was £4.15 in MrT’s on Sunday for the 300g refil pack of their freeze-dried instant coffee. It’s the cheapest decent instant coffee I’ve found - I’m a Douwe Egberts girl normally but this is just as good. This was one of the two items we couldn’t find when we did our big shop last Friday night.

The £9.61 spent above plus 2 £2 coins received in change*, brings our total spend for June to £60.36/£120, leaving £59.64 for the rest of the month.

While I remember, if you like Options flavoured hot chocolate, Asda is currently selling them for £2.50 a jar, down from the usual £3.99 (£4 in MrT’s). I like the mint flavour, which I mix with the cheapest own-brand low calorie hot chocolate drink to make it last longer - one teaspoon mint to two teaspoons plain. Lidl currently have the cheapest plain chocolate drink; I think I paid £1.35 for a jar last month. The Bulk Fund purchased 4 jars of Options on Sunday, which should last for ages.

Finally, someone was saying that their tablet wouldn’t play nicely with the icon to colour text. If you want to do it manually, typing in the HTML, the code to type before your text is:

    [ colour = “red” ]

    And after the text:

    [ / colour ]

Please note, I have inserted spaces between each element. You must remove them or the code won’t work.

    * All £2 are saved in a money box and go towards the Running Away Fund (aka the holiday fund).

Going to commit to my NSD now, that's 3 out of 5 days so I'm very happy!

Working out some new recipes for my thread, I made a tagine this evening which was nice, so I'll try to add that asap.

Hope everyone has had a lovely day :)

Added in my small shop at the coop and the MrAl. Today was an NSD - was just too tired to go shopping. Should be fine for the month as there's a bit of cash still to come in, but I really need to get my act together and get some menus and a shop done to make it through to payday.
