  • missy, i got a set of kitchen scales from tesco that were about £12 and they are top notch.

Vix, I hope you realise what you have done to our poor boys Suggs and Ajax. I should imagine they are both having palpitations at the thought of your job. Still increased heart rate increases rate of calories burned, right?

Pooh, tell us all about your doggy! I'm all broody for a doggy, not interested in babies but go all gooey at doggies. Awwww Bails and your furntiure. Most of my ikea bookcases have at least one shlf on back to front( so the chipboard show on the edge) but i still love building them. When i moved house I bought stickers and stuck coloured stickers on them so that i could them all together instead of ending up with a big juble of pieces.

Jules well done on your weight loss and i hope your nan is doing okay.

Petrichor, i love our online advent calendar! Has anyone seen the jewellery advent calendars in M&S? Lurvely, but at £30 not cheap. I'm going in every couple of days to see if they've reduced them yet because I want one fr next year.

I ate the fruit platter!!!!!!!!! go me!!!!!!!! And i had soup to start with. Had a massive munchfest when i got home but it was ricecakes so thats okay. Making progress . . . . .

I splurged a bit and ordered new Salter kitchen scales and a total body analyser for the bathroom :o I'll be able to play with lots of numbers now, haha! (Got a good deal on these so I'm happy!)

What's the betting my new scales won't agree with the old ones, I had a similar problem when I gained 2lb after changing the battery on my current ones:rotfl:

Well done to SOTW Anic, Delly and Pixiedust and everyone who's making progress, you're an inspiration. To anyone who's struggling, Katyk, KPC and anyone else, I am in completely the same boat - anyone want to start paddling? :D
The first thing I did this morning was eat choccy biscuits and was all about to ignore my own advice and blow the whole day but have decided to 'get a grip' instead (well, try my best to, anyhoo). So it's back to basics for me - I'm going to make myself some porridge....ooh, just interrupted by the kitten taking my post-it notes off the whiteboard, then playing with my London medal and now he's hopped off with one of my injection needles! (in a case of course) Okay, it's been substituted for one of my less favourite pens - now, where was I?
Oh yes, so porridge and then menu planning, trying to use up the ingredients we have in the house. I also have a mountain of housework to do but have to go and be a team advisor for the ME clinic later so will need to limit how much I do. Most importantly, I think my eating is an emotional response so I need to work out what is upsetting me.
BB, thankyou for the chart. KPC, well done for the soup and fruit platter, sounds like you're starting to get back on track. Katyk, post whenever you can, I always need some company in the naughty corner :D
    Good luck today everyone xx

ps the hip/ratio thang scared me as apparently I am in the high risk category... Oh, and also, I have decided tobe brave and post my 'before' photos so can anyone please tell me how I do that so that just you peeps can see them, not the whole site! It'll need to be step-by-step probs as I'm hopeless at these things :o Thanks

Morning all, hope we are all well. Not sure what happened with the font, it was Times New Roman to start with :T

Sorry not been about much, MrsSuggs has an "acute viral throat infection" so is laid up and off work. We guess she picked it up on the flight home. Well thats what the docs say. So have been cooking simple meals that are 'throat friendly', strangley though rice isnt :confused:Add to that the prep work for my apprasial and then a meeting yesterday in London, that got cancelled  and today is really the first day for me to play.

Vix, according to type I should be jumping for joy at the very thought of your job :T Im still too tired to respond in an ajax way. But suffice to say, I am very jealous, and if you have any hints for Christmas??? And I mean nice ones, that ladies actually want, not the things us blokes might like.

Petrichor, I did forget to mention this before, but MrsS uses a small shop near to where she works for her bra and evidently when she has a fitting, she gets the full Trinny and Susannah treatment, it doesnt worry her, as she know she is getting correctly fitted, so maybe you can give it a good. btw yes I did have a maintian but over the weekend I gained 2lb as I weighed on Friday for my benefit. Actualy Im weighing everyday at the moment and doing a graph, why? because I am sure the rugby has something to do with the maintian, the twice I didnt play or have a weekend away I lost more. So am doing this as an experiment. Besides Im not going to Boots anymore, not if the damm machine speaks to you, ok it doesnt speak your weight, but when it says 'Please stand up straight" the whole shop turns around. Anyways I would say Munich is great for a christmas market, as is Prague, Amsterdam is a city, like Prague, of two faces and you can easily see one face and not the XXX other with little problems. Now tell MrP to get his act togehter :)

missyg, along with others, like your good self, my boobs are getting smaller too. Not small enough for me mind, but yes smaller. Only doing the gym 3 times this week, due to work commitments but still playing rugby on Saturday, though with the rain and mud! I use a small set of scales too. How are things going for you?? Are you finding it easy? With regards to the complaint at the gym, nothing so far. I am on the verge of a second complaint as the gym was closed on Tuesday so it could be used as a meeting room again  Roll on the completation of the refurb which is meant to be next week.

Ajax, we stayed at the Nadia Hotel nr Joordan in Amsterdam, it was number 13 on tripadvisor and I cant recommend it enough. Eating wise, we intended to go for Chinese or Thai on Saturday evening, but everywhere was full, so ended up in Damrak steak and chips as part of a tourist menu, very nice too. I wont mention the KFC we had on Friday night, as it was very late, very wet and we wanted something quick and easy. Hows the missus?? I trust and hope you are looking after her? Oddly the less she does initially, the better for the recovery :)

BrightonBelle, your numbers are right for me thanks. Victory, do you need the naughty step??? ;) Sorry if I missed it, but hows the knee etc? and pasta is!

Right back to work for me

    back soon

Bails Im sure the lovely and gorgeous petrichor is the lady that can sort you out with this. I posted to an external site and put the link in my signature. But Pet can seem to do it in the message. I have a nice one of me in Amsterdam standing by a canal if anyone is interested :rotfl:

No, I need to stop this nasty rumour right now! My boobs aren't getting smaller! I was measured when I bought my lovely new underwear just a month ago and I am still 32F! :p

Bails, well done on stepping back from the edge of the blowing the whole day abyss. Hope your day goes OK at the clinic. With the waist thing, I didn't mean to scare anyone - hope it's more a motivational kind of scare. You are very brave posting up your photo! :D

Suggs, I'm still getting into a new routine with the gym/fitness. Trying to do 20-60 mins of exercise each day but not going for it like an obsessive, trying to keep it light to moderate. I really hope your gym refurb is going to be worth all this hassle. Using the gym as a meeting room seems really bizarre  Let us know how your graphing experiment goes and hope MrsS gets better very very soon.

Hi all - The 40A bra came from M&S I had a choice of 3 the one I chose was a pretty lacy multi way one that I could wear with anything & was £14 this size on the internet was about £36. This was the only shop in the whole city that had that size. God help me if i was looking for the size I was month ago a 42A cos they didn't have any of those. Anyway got to go my DD is pulling at my arm & screaming at me.

Petrichor just be brave and go and get fitted properly. I go to Rigby and Peller (I know, I know it's expensive but it's worth it) and they just look at your back to determine the correct size, then at your front and tell you what cup size. Never seen a tape measure there. Then they tell you what sort of a style will be best for you and bring you a selection to try. It's very hands on .:o ... but just think of them as you would a nurse or doctor.

I went from wearing a 38/40 B cup (as measured by M&S) to being a 34 E. And everyone noticed the improvement! Better to have one really good bra then half a dozen mediocre ones for the same total price I think.

Sorry --- that all sounds very bossy but I'm a R+P convert and you know that converts are always over keen to persuade others to join them.

...Do you actually measure people for new bras Vix? I went to buy new bras a couple of weeks ago and thought that it would be a good idea to get measured properly, (in M&S there was a sign saying that 70% of women wear the wrong size!) Being brave  I sent my DD in first, but when she told me that she had to take off her top, I chickened out :o . I can quite understand the need for this, but can you explain to me how you take into account the style of bra being worn or that some will already be wearing the wrong size bra etc? For example, (off the top of my head;) ) a bra that is too big cupwise, do you peep inside to see if there's a space (which there is in this hypothetical case:rotfl: ). I've always measured myself ie underneath and around the fullest part blah blah, and will do so again before I buy some new ones, but I would very much like your professional point of view, please.

Yea i measure, have so for about 2 years now. Its a hugely satisfying!

job, i might turn my little satuday job into a career! I work in debenhams, and going by many people in the industry the best place to get fitted is at debenhams. M&S just provide a measuring service, its highly innacurate but i guess some poeple like it? who knows.

Anyway, at debenhams we just measure you underneath the bust and then guess and change the bra untill its right. Its the best way as it ensures that bra is correct. If you do this everytime you should have a bra full of different sizes. My bra drawer ranges from 34A to 32D. And thats saying something because i cant do myself!

You do have to take your top off to do it properly but there is nothing to be worried about at all. Literally nothing i see would ever make me feel ew, even when a pregnant woman squirted her milk everywhere, or the 9 out of 10 women who dont shave under their arms, or the ones with more hair round their nipples than i have on my naughty area! literally doesnt bother me or anyone. All you would do is stand there, get measured under your bust, asked what kind of bra you are looking for, what bra size you usually where. Then we would go out look for a few, you would try them on and then we would check by seeing if your bulging out the sides or the front, that the band is tight enough, then i would open up the wire at the side to make sure youre breast isnt being squished by the wire, then get you to life your arms up. Repeated if in wrong size, then its job done! easy peasy.

I wanted to show you this AMAZING bra we do at debenhams its bloody gorgeous! A-D cup only though, but its fab. sadly its not on the site but pop in. its ivory/white with black flowers on it with lace on the top of the cup. has padded hangers. I would take a photo (i get too passionate about underwear, i shall be quiet cos i could literally go on for ages!)

emmalis> if you get to stuck for 40a, try 38B if you can, there would be a considerable amount more of them around.
