As for giving up the WL, thank you for your kind words - it's a little complex but in a nutshell I have too many shoulds/oughts in my life and not enough coulds/wants ( I'm sure people can relate). Even things that used to be 'wants', like swimming for example, are now becoming 'shoulds' and then I don't do them... so it's more about readjusting the focus really. My priority is getting well and while the two aren't mutually exclusive, a subtle shift in focus will help both of them, I hope.
:T :T :T Well done you. This is a veryimportant life lesson you are grappling with here and I really applaud you for working on the essentials. I really believe others things will fall into place naturally by doing this. It is very hard to let go but when you find you are beating yourself up with what you are not achieving it just created a pressuring viscious circle. Will send you the tee-shirt.
I love it when people let on about their age etc - I spend the whole time thinking that everyone is much older (and by that I mean in the 'wise' sense) than me - guess it's just that I'm incredibly immature, lol!
The trouble is bails, every year I think 'next year I'll be wise and sophisticated (and thin) and have life sussed. I'm still waiting for it to happen :rotfl:
Thanks for all the hugs.
Lots of well dones to peeps. Top of the list is Dragon - you've been struggling for ages Dragon and sudden here's a 3lb loss:T . Well deserved. Also:j for Ajax 2lb;delly 1.5lb after a rough few weeks; starlight - 8st lost U R AMAZING;newlywed 3lb;vickyj 3.5lb and a very healthy bmi of 22;perfect 10 1lb. Well done all of you  .
Granny - think 'easy on, easy off'. You need your holidays with your job (the stress I felt with one agressive client yesterday can't relate to what you probably have to deal with all the time).
Fab Halloween smilies Petrichor. Sorry about the weight gain retired lady - my class is in the evening and I can be 3lb heavier than I am in the morning too but obviously as my class is always in the eve I stick by that official WI. So condsider yourself a maintain I say.
Pokey128 - welcome back. PLease stay with us. You don't have to tell us how much you put on or WI with us until you are ready. But sticking with us will help keep you focussed. I had appendiciticus 20 yeasr ago so I know what its like and you've got to give yourself time to recover and get your reserves up.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi all just discovered we're back on line again!!! yeah i've been going nuts!!
Stayed the same this week. After a week & half my DD has finally mastered the art of the potty!!! yeah!! & even went to playschool yesterday afternoon & this morning in knickers & when I picked her up after 1hr 45 she was still dry!!!
After 7 weeks going it alone I have finally decided that due to suspected PCOS (wish doc would give me a straight answer yes or no instead of maybe!) RC is the best way forward for me. Got the book out of the library yesterday just got to get my head around it then its go go go. Will be doing it at home can't afford the classes. Have asked for my own copy of the book for christmas along with Antony Worrall Thompson GI cookbook. Just hope I can keep up with the loss as I've lost 11lb already. Would like to have lost 1 1/2 stone by xmas. Then i've got till Aug 09 to lose the other 3 1/2 stone to get into that pretty bridesmaids dress & look good in it.Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

Well I'd like to say I lost half a pound but I didn't I put on half a pound so total is now 15.5 lbs and for this month is 3lb. Is there still a week to go for the October challenge? Maybe I'm still in with a chance of getting to 5lb this month. It was worth it .... I do love Italian cooking .....
Now MUCH MORE IMPORTANT
Thank you to Justmarried06 for all the little parcels ... a suitably named mug (the boss!),scented candles and holders for them, napkins with pictures of little cakes, a novel about chocolate .... what clever ideas. I have a very long day today (after school meetings, then governors followed by a visit to an elderely friend) but when I get home at 10.00 p.m. I'm going to light a scented candle, have coffee in my mug, with a pretty napkin to dab my dribbly mouth and start reading the book. Something great to look forward to. Thanks!!!!0 -
It's lovely to see everyone is enjoying their boxes, thanks so much again KPC for organising it.
Well done to all of us for losing or sticking with it - on top of losing our unwanted pounds we get to be part of a fantastic and uplifting lil' community; how great is that!
I've got some fab news to put into the pot...I've just got myself a teaching job!!:T:j:T:j[I feel like doing a cartwheel if anyone can supply one... Ace halloween smilies btw Petrichor, and the teaching one - can I have it again please?!]
I went along to see the Head of English and it was brilliant - she seems dead nice, young and forward thinking, and her MiL also has ME so she's coming from a place of some understanding:T. She is pretty pleased to have me on board (prob not at the cartwheeling stage yet but wait til she sees me teach :rotfl:) and is happy for me to do as much or as little as I like, at my own pace. I can even start next week!! I'll be supporting lower end Year 7 for 2 hours a week and this is a perfect reintroduction to the classroom without the added pressures. I'm hoping that in time I can take over the classes and get truly back into the swing of things. The best thing of all about this place is that although there are long and medium term plans in place with set objectives, how you teach is up to you ie you can be as creative as you like! This is what I hated about my last English job, the teaching was so prescribed - do this for 5 mins, do this for 10 mins etc - so I'm well happy about teaching in such an environment where creativity is celebrated not crushed!
Enough gushing, sorry! Can you tell I'm a little bit excited?!:D Off dog walking now then settling in for an afternoon of reading the set texts for next week's lessons - I thought I might never be saying that again!!:TThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi Everyone!
Glad we are back online, i suffered a withdrawal at the weekend!
Well, been going to the gym regularly now for 2 weeks. I am sure there is a difference but maybe its just me imagining it! Certainly the thighs dont ache as much as they used to and I can complete my programme quite easily. Maybe I should increase it a bit......not sure as I have a "half time" assessment after about 10 sessions so i guess everything will change then. After the initial embarrasment about going which was completely unfounded as all shapes and sizes were there I am now quite happy to walk in and "get on with it". Okay there are some fitness freaks there sometimes, pumping iron and tearing down the treadmill at breakneck speed but they do their thing and I do mine. I have found that the best time to go is during the day when it is quiet.
I ust reiterate that if your gp can offer you a course at the gym do take it - its great.
As for the diet ( lets not call it that!) I found that recipe for leek and potato soup and its gorgeous! - and very filling too.
Off now to walk the dog - she is nagging me for her daily workout too!0 -
well done for sticking with the gym wilroda - I'm sure you will see some results. I found that when i was kickboxing many years ago I actually gained weight but had dropped 2 dress sizes. I hope your assessment goes well.
Bails CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! We are all so chuffed for you to get this job. Let the weight loss take a back seat and focus on this for a while. You're doing the right thing but don't go away. We'll be waiting to hear the staff room gossip between you and Grannynise. Emmalis, sounds like you have put lots of work into choosing your plan - i really hope it pays off for you. Don't put too much pressure on yourself in that dress though - i had some major issues a couple of years ago being a bridesmaid. I got all het up and panicky about it and eventually i think my subconscious just tripped me up - you see the bride was and is absolutely drop dead gorgeous; perfect skin, figure everything. I just kinda thought 'well I'm going to look like a troll no matter what' and the upshot is i still hate to look at those pictures as it reminds how miserable and uncomfortable i felt. And rationally now, I can see that it didn't really matter, that i didn't look so bad after all. Apart from the hairstyle but lets not go there. I'm not sure what my point is here apart from don't stress too much and force yourself to be perfect for an occasion.0 -
I've just got myself a teaching job!!:T:j:T:j[I feel like doing a cartwheel if anyone can supply one... Ace halloween smilies btw Petrichor, and the teaching one - can I have it again please?!]

xxxx

Oh my word I think I've gone cross eyed after that post and the smilies, they're fabulous!
Bails, just to echo KPC and Pet above we're all so incredibly chuffed for you, it must be such a boost and as you say covering for a couple of hours at a time will give you a chance to get to know the kids, and how far/fast you can push yourself to get back in there and take them over all together - next stop global domination!!!!!!!!
Emmalis, I go to RC classes so if you have any queries please feel free to give me a shout or drop me a PM - there's a few of us Conley Cronies on here now! Wilroda, well done on keeping up with the gym visits - its the motivation that usually beats me, I start off with al good intentions and perhaps go into things too hard and fast as after a few weeks I start making excuses, so I have great admiration for people who can stick to it!!
Wish I'd opened my parcel this morning now, I'm getting jealous! Grannynise, you are more than welcome am just pleased you like it all!
