  • Didnt make the gym this morning , woke up aching all over and wasnt sure if it was the previous evenings excercise or that I was coming down with something
Will make it up next week - in all honesty its harder to mantain on the cold dark nights

tonight , the pub - very tempted to buy a quart of vodka rather then buy over the bar - bit tight though
  • Well the gym has fallen by the wayside slightly

I was out alot over the weekend and picked up a cold from saturday night which meant no work on Monday and no energy for a work out
I will get back on it as I am feeling squidgy
Tomorrow is a new day after all so its back to the grind from then on.

Its been a great few days for recieving bottles from suppliers, I have 5 in reception
Everything has left the account for December and I will not be buying any further presents no matter how much I think I haven't bought enough , its one day a blooming year.

2020 will be the year I make the budget work
  • Got back to the gym last night , acheived 8 miles in 30 minutes on the bike and various arm and leg presses as well as my stomach press.
Felt so much better for going but could have very easily stayed home

I have £120 left until payday , payday is xmas eve which is early
I doubt I will have any surplus cash as I have to pick my boy up from Sheffield on Sunday which is a tank of petrol and also have social events ( however going to adopt the hip flask ) and a pre xmas nail appointment - The fuel alone will be £70
  • Good morning MSE'rs

Well I survived the festivities regardless of my sons over indulgance on prosecco !

Over the next day or so as most of us do I shall be making some personal goals for 2020 - I have to get to grips with the budget and basically line all of my ducks up

I hope everyone has had a wonderful xmas and want to wish you all a happy and prosperous new year
  • Same to you, ES x
  • Well new year has passed pretty inexpensively , ended up at a venue but thankfully didnt have to buy tickets as NM does a lot of security work so we tend to go in free.
this was a nice £40 saving between the two of us

We have our first weekend away this weekend - It is his treat but I will need to take some spends with me , bank balance is looking surprisingly empty and I am more determined then ever to stop the tapping habit
the historic spends and playing it on impacts next months available money -I have have have to abstain

My barclaycard 0% expires this month and I haven't cleared the balance , I thought I would chance my arm and didnt expect a yes but i have a new 0% tesco card with 28 months 0%
this is really going to help and help the new disaplined me too

Car tax and a service due this month .............hopefully not too unkind on the pocket
  • I just took a few moments to create a new SOA - its not overly thorough but its a good indicator of where things are I guess
Obviously the 2nd person in my household is my mum and some fields are empty as she takes care of those household expenses
Obviously a few fields like holidays empty - I've never had a fund for these as such and other then a little weekend away this year is a blank canvas so I can try and incoperate something in to here.
Its been quite tricky to get an average the last few months on what I spend however definately room for me to jiggle and save I am sure - I just need to withold from temptation

  • Had a lovely weekend with NM in the land of tulips - what a place and lots of new experiences , I've been before many years ago so kind of had an awareness however it was worth seeing the surprise in his face !
hotel was lovely , flights were effecient and easy and most importantly spends fell in to budget.

Had intended to get back in to the gym cycle this week however i have a dodgy tummy and am visiting the toilet ALOT
I also have yet to unpack , My ex ( yes remember him!) found out about NM and threw his toys out the pram and wants anything he ever gave me back so I have to organise that as I'll be couriering it from work and I also have a friend who I am due to visit - Am aware some friendships have been neglected lately so need to make sure I give them due attention

Am buzzing from the 0% card , and determined more then ever that this year I will not be wasteful ..............Its a first for me that other then my usual girls weekender I have no trips or holidays on the calender.
  • So today started with me oversleeping

i swerved the gym last night as its full of new year resolutioners , my theory was I would go early this morning as some of the new keen beans wouldn't be in attendance
I had trouble nodding off , alarm went off at 5.00 and I rolled over and went back to sleep until 7.50 ! i start work at 8
so suffice to say didnt make the gym and will try again tomorrow evening !!!
Rolled in to work half an hour late - Getting back in to routine is proving difficult

I was fortunate to be gifted a wrist fitness tracker over xmas , I will be backing the alarm up with this vibrating on my wrist and also installing the daybreak clock my daughter bought me which slowly fills the room with sunlight

Need to really get to grips with my bedroom storage , I am running out of room despite regular clear outs so really need to consider some smart storage I think - I don't seem to have much available space and am packing 45 years of life in to my childhood bedroom , I dont like to leave things around the house as my mum has little care for anything

I'm skiving away from my work load looking at trainers I love but don't need on DH gate and holidays which I won't book later in the year in the carribean
The second one is a major draw , I can do a week in our winter time for less then £600 and its on the bucket list , I have to be strict with this
I've got another 28 months 0% but I need to clear the decks and make more progress with saving etc before I can consider committing to any jollies
Tough though , I usually have something in the pipeline.

Had £7.32 to cash out on Quidco , Have sent this over to the CC - Every little helps

its early doors with regards to cash flow but January is looking pleasantly optomistic
  • Happy Friday people

Well what a few days thats been - got woken early hours yesterday morning by a call from my nephew to say my sister was at hospital following some kind of breakdown/Anxiety over load so my day was very much taken up by making sure she was ok
Shes fragile but manageable and thankfully aware shes not wired right at the moment
Gym trip was postponed last night to take her for coffee and a chat and try and get to the bottom of what had been going on / triggered the episode
£8.60 spent on four coffees for this but needed to go out as house was full of kids so there was no privacy

Had a quick visit to my son last night before he goes back to university on Saturday and then home to fill my mum in on what had been occuring for my sibling as we hadn't told her as we didnt want her to worry without cause

This morning I woke up early early so decided to take the oppurtunity to do the gym visit that I kept putting off , its full of newbies at the moment and packed to the rafters so going at 6am absolutely had its benefits and I was able to get round

It has resulted in a 50p spend for todays car park however and £8.00 in the supermarket as the excercise inspired me to restock my healthy snacks in my drawer
Found I am extremely hungry lately , not sure why other then the winter weather so I'm trying to make healthy choices as I am so close to my target weight I just want to get there
