You sound much happier. Maybe it's all the exercise, maybe it's the man? Maybe a combination
the weight loss definitely seems to be going fantastically. You sound really motivated and its motivating well done you.
Sounds like things with the ex husband are going better and you now know why it was awkward before. Dramatic or what?!
New survey says the best way to save is to treat it as a bill and save when you get paid. What about a direct debit to premium bonds?
I hope you can keep the laptop too.

Hi Kitten , things aren't getting me down as much I think alot is do with the gym sessions and a new feel good factor there and the NM has assisted too.
That comes with its own woes , I hate the early stages when you are trying to ascertain where things are heading , how they see things progressing etc and also making sure you are still gaurded in case your expectations are different to the other person.
I've always known the problem when it came to my kids dads , shes a bit crazy and obviously insecure - If she would be amicable she would see that I am no threat to her however I don't like the women so I won't be pushing for it when she has already done a U turn.
Finances wise , Its been a long month already , I have £70 until payday and no plans/needs except fuel however its bank holiday and I would like to get out and about so i'm going to have to put some thought in to that one !! 10 days until payday so thats £7 a day , now theres a challenge
I'm happy with how the paybacks are going and this month I don't have a balance on the c/card to sort so thats in the right direction too.
looking through my statement , that makes all the difference to how the rest of the month goes.
Not sure if I mentioned it but before my boss went on annual leave he took me aside about our appraisals and wage review , we usually get a standard 2 or 3% yearly however he has proposed I get a rise of 1k - this is great and prob twice the standard so I'm not unhappy with that - work has been manic since he went away though , I think had we had the conversation on his return I would be telling him its not enough !!!!0 -
Why do you think he said it before and disappeared? Lol
I'm wondering if your positivity is also because you don't have the poor dog howling all the time too. Not to speak ill of the dead but it must have been so draining.
I think definitely do something nice for bank holiday but plan so you have some say in how you can reduce the cost.Loan 1 £5200/£8000

The loss of the dog although awful for my mum has improved my quality of sleep and habitat to a certain extent , I dont go to sleep hearing barking or get woken for the same reason and I can eat my dinner without him yapping at my mum for a share - this along with the gym where I can wash and shower without worrying about what lays beyond the door also helps
Blimey , I'm painting a grim picture but its how it is and I accept that and just have to get on until such a time it can change
make the best of it I guess
Tentative steps with NM - the ex wrong man who I have remained on amicable terms with has just been diagnosed with cancer.
obviously I wouldn't wish this on anyone but he does seem to be coming to me to get things of his chest with how he feels about it etc.
Sometimes I'm too nice , NM is aware of it and his prognosis and although I try to be a nice person etc , I don't want it damaging other things and affecting new beginnings for me
It seems appalling timing to tell someone you can't be supportive to someone
Bank holiday now completely up in air , NM works shifts and thought he was off on saturday but turns out he isn't so we can't get out and about so much other then Friday night
I'm going to take us to dinner tonight on the meerkat and we will prob go to pub or dinner friday.
All of my kids are away this weekend so I don't yet know how I'm going to fill my time
I may just pop in on friends , drink wine and resist the urge to frequent a pub garden
£20.00 fuel in the car yesterday , intrigued to see if I can this months money match the month
5k on the rowing machine , 3 miles fat burn on the bike and one of the personal trainers has convincing me to giver her interval training class a go.
its included in the membership , so why not0 -
well , heres the nice long weekend
off out to dinner with NM tonight , we couldn't decide whether to go out or stay in so he suggested a coin toss and gave me the outcome for each of the results - I swung back and forth so I handed the responsibilty to a work mate and it landed on heads so out we go.
Not much on this weekend , think I will just do some odd jobs and get rid of those things that have been hanging around.
thanks Kitten for the DD suggestion for Prem bonds , I have savings in these so I intend to start even just a small donation each month and forget all about it
Have booked flights to brothers wedding , have also suggested to him that my sister takes the + 1 , he thought this was a great idea
They dont have a relationship as such but thats been circurmstance and can always be changed , my dad was peeved that he hadn't included her originally however he prob thought that since they don't have contact she is particularly interested
My dad is now so excited , its been over 20 years since he had all of his children together so we will have to make sure we have a family photo or two as I am sure these don't exist.0 -
I think the premium bond savings direct debit start from £25 a month so theres no excuse
Great compromise on your brothers wedding! Well done you xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Happy Tuesday
I've had a relatively quiet and relaxing weekend and also fairly inexpensive which is always a plus
Recieved my letter from the boss and I have my 1k rise so thats happy days , after stoppages and pension I am prob around £50 a month better off but its better then nothing
only real expense this weekend has been fuel and lunch with my eldest daughter , I feel like I haven't done very much at all but it was nice to just kick back and chill
I didn't feel well yesterday but I drove back from NM with roof down and no hat on my head and it was scorching - I think I had mild sunstroke
4 days until payday , no biggies this week so hopefully only fuel to cover.
I am in my overdraft by £30.00 but was kind of expected
Going to set up a direct debit end of september to add to my bonds0 -
good afternoon
Todays quandry , do i switch bank accounts ? Very tempted by HSBC £175.00 incentive although not upset with my bank and have been with them a long long time
Pros and cons people ???
For some background , I have a flex direct which I pay £13.00 a month for , esavers which I move money in to for my EF fund and NW credit card which I try not to use but it will have a balance for the dog bill this month as I don't have all available funds as this was paid for for my mum.
Reading up on MSE home page , NW are scrapping the 5% interest on balances and also the free £250.00 overdraft in November
My account currently gives me those , aswell as AA cover which I do use , Phone insurance which I've never used and I'm not fussed by and travel insurance which I would get an annual policy for quite competitively I imangine
Basically for travel insurance and AA I am paying out £13 x 12 months a year equalling £156
I can acquire £175 by moving to HSBC , but I won't have the payable perks but I'm pretty sure I must be able to get these cheaper then I'm currently paying ??????
HSBC also offer a saver of 5% which is always handy to move my surplus if any cash too
They offer free £250.00 overdraft
Currently all my banking is done online - If all accounts are shut on switch , what happens to the small c/card balance for the dog?
so yes , this is my currrent food for thought - I'm waiting to make sure my new wage meets the min payable in required before deciding
Still no one has contacted me about the additional laptop I had delivered..............how long is reasonable to expect them to try and retrieve it ???
My neice is after one to go to uni with and the cheeky side of me senses an oppurtunity0 -
Hello MSER's
I'm sailing the ship at work alone and completely run off my feet
Wage slip through , I just about meet the £1750 required by HSBC so choices , choices but I think I'll go for it
Gym tonight , I'm now within all my BMI percentages and can see the end goal looming so I need to rest on my laurels
Over to the NM tonight , He says he loves how we have no drama - I have to be careful not to let the support I've offered my ex ( conversation and a sounding board only ) alter that as I am not sure I would like the situation
He has been told he has cancer but it is secondary so has spread from somewhere and they can't locate the primary - I try not to use doctor google but this prognosis is very unfavourable
I need to do what is right by my own expectations of myself and noone elses and hope everybody can see my intentions
I can't help think that he is on borrowed time and although I truly am not in love with him if I can assist him I will0 -
Hiya,
I'm keeping my flex plus. I had a read through and martin says the insurance is still far superior to the others. Family have had to use it and they've been brilliant. Plus me and hubby claim on the phone insurance every year. And the breakdown cover is really good and is a premium cover too from home, uk and abroad. You get someone local quickly. The big difference for me is that mine is joint and covers me and my husband (and kids if abroad). So technically I'm paying £6.50 each which does make a big difference as we would pay more for just phone insurance each. HSBCs equivalent account is more expensive plus they are picky about who they will take on. I've recently opened a monzo account. I love putting all the purchases in categories and seeing what I've spent as soon as I've spent it. Get notifications on my phone like 'you've spent £46.72 today' which makes you more aware. And I've put all my holiday spending under one category so I know how much it cost. (I can recommend you for a £5 if you like) but it's not £175.
You don't owe your ex anything and I'm not sure if it would help matters if you help as I don't think he takes it the right way. Only you know what's really going on between you two but you know the slightest sniff and he thinks he can win you back so tread carefully.
I don't know about the laptop. You would win best aunt on that though xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
