I think this is the weekends project , go through direct debit payments and compose some correspondence and give step change a call
I think she could declare my income as things still don't fit and it will enable some movement in the future should the circumstances change , I don't think she is embracing the DMP and is rather old school and would rather struggle to meet the payments for now but not be breaking contractual agreements so it may be put on hold as although I can suggest solutions ultimately it is down to her.
I've been paid , and everything except my mobile phone and barclaycard has already been debited , I seem to have a little mount up of other little bits and pieces that need to be paid and obviously the festive period is sneaking up on us
Hits home to me that I really need to step up the savings and have the money aside next year , With the "forgotten" holiday payment its thrown me out of sync and I am considering dipping in my bonds to give me some leverage HOWEVER I also would like to see if I can work through it and sort everything and retain the savings , knowing that i have them as a back up should I need them. No rash movement - they are there should the be needed plus the draw isn't until tomorrow !!
If I try and see it through then maybe it will help me not over run with the xmas purchases
I'm out with my BFF tomorrow night , its feels so long since I had a girls night that I will make the most of it and I am determined not to welch0 -
I've also heard back from two companies on my PPI and as suspected I don't have any PPI
I am going to be very surprised if I have any at all however it won't bare any fruit if we dont sprinkle it with water so fingers crossed there is a little windfall in store for me0 -
Happy friday people
Finally the end of the week , I am off out with the friends tonight for the first time in what seems like forever ago.
Getting ready at my mates and having a chip shop dinner before hand so i was up early getting everything ready - only to realise that I have forgotten my Strapless bra.
The sensible option would be to go home and get it but that will be a 60 minute round journey , maybe I will just pop in to sainsburys and pick up a new one................of all the things I could have forgotten I can't go out without it !!!0 -

good morning and happy monday
I had a good night out with my friends on Friday , the event is a regular one and it kind of felt like it lacked something but we made the most of it
I ended up spending £50 , £5.00 to a friend for an event next month £6.00 on a takeaway , £8.00 cigs ( yeah I know ) and the remainder on Vodka ! I'm not unhappy with this since I can't recall when I last went OUT OUT
I did not feel wavy at all which makes me very suspicious about whats actually in the optics when you are at these places but I must have needed a sleep as I got in to bed at 2.30am and slept until 1pm !
I can't remember when I last did that
Spent a lot of time with my middle sproglet and got a few little bits in for Xmas but other then that pretty non eventful
I have decided I will get my video game mad son a retro console for xmas , we are going to have a bit of extra fun with it and package it in a microwave box so that he has to pretend to be grateful for something he would neither ask for or expect to be bought.
I have a gaming fanatic at work who is now scouring his gaming community for a suitable console
All payments now gone except the Barclaycard - Again i have placed the very money in to a savings pot linked to my account , the balance is due by the 21st December to clear with no interest i need another £50 and I have it
I can't work out why I haven't sent it as yet - I think I would like to send it in its complete payment but then if I send it in parts at least my debt reduces on my credit report.
In news from the mother , there hasn't been much movement. She gave me the shopping money in cash which suggests she doesn't want me to be able to check the bank account.
We really didn't need very much so I have half left which I have held on to for now as I am thinking this may create a shopping "float"
I know she gave my sister a credit card to buy cigerettes over the weekend which is annoying and maybe demonstrates that she is ready to make the changes she needs to , as i know she has also used argos credit facility for some xmas presents.
I have a step change information pack at home , i shall open it and leave it laying about and suggest to her that we progress the idea however I think she may have to struggle on a little more before she wants to explore this0 -
Happy Monday! Love the microwave box idea, that'll be funny. As would a 'spare bra' category in your budget :rotfl:
I had an OUT OUT night last week & it was blimmin awesome, I don't regret a penny of it. Would have loved to have slept til 1, not done that since the 00s ;-)
Happy Monday!Starting debt (Aug 2018) £17,900

Happy Monday!
I decided to switch outfit rather then go out with plasters covering my dignity !
I was surprised I slept so long ......woke up in a panic as my car was still at the venue but managed to rope a relative in to help me collect it0 -
Happy Wednesday
After the little bubble of concern at the end of last month , i am confident I can get through the upcoming season without cashing in bonds
I will revisit this in the new year - BUT the idea was add to the investment , not take from it so this is a last possible resort on my part and i think maybe a bit of a panic.
I have come to work without my purse today so at least that saves any spending
Christmas is very much on my mind , I don't have a huge portfolio of people to buy for but I do like to buy something thoughtful
There will be a cut down on what the kids get , Usually it is OTT and soon mounts up and now the two girls earn their own money , they can buy most things themselves
I will be booking a short break for the four of us for next year as their main present - This as always will be the best value I can get. Over the years I have learnt that memories are the best gift to have , especially since they are no longer able to live with me - I really value the extended times we get to spend together
Easyjet go on sale later this month for September '19 which is the most pratical month for us to do this
We have a short list of possible destinations but it will come down to what suits the pocket best - I really fancy Tallin or Florence , the kids dubrovnik or Venice
If I asked them what they had for xmas in 2016 I am not sure they would remember but something like this I am sure they always will
Welcome any suggestions of anywhere slightly different with plenty to see / do for 3 young twenties and their forever young mum !!
( We have experience of Berlin , amsterdam , Brussels , Paris , Budapest , Prague , Barcelona , Athens , Stockholm and Dublin between us so none of these )
Things appear to have progressed with the mothership - I think reality is slowly setting in.
She has made an appointment to go to the smoking clinic , admitting that she has a problem. This is fantastic , any help she can get is great but she does also need to help herself ( I am even considering we both go to be hypnotised ! )
We also have a problem with the home plumbing - I think the realisation that she cannot afford to call someone out has contributed to the clinic appointment , We have an intermittant problem where there will no water in to any of the taps ( with the exception of the cold , fed off the mains in the kitchen ) or toilet cisterns - Its happened twice now that I know off and both times she hasn't seem concerned
It always comes back a few hours later , but on Monday when I was out apparantly there was a rattling noise when she flushed the upstairs toilet and that has made her realise that it needs addressing
By her admission she does not have the money to get it sorted - the house is 40 years old and i think there is a fear that it could potentially be an expensive fix
As she was telling me what had happened etc , I could sense her looking at me to step in
This I find frustrating - If it needs sorting then I will have no choice as water is an essential but it won't make me want to use the facilities!!
If she hadn't squandered so much over the last two years this wouldn't be a problem !!!!!!!
I do wonder if its just me being mean ?0 -
So today is one of feeling overwhelmed with life
Work is manic
Home is challenging
Happiness is hard to come by
People are dissapointing
I make life difficult for myself
Despite leaving my purse at home yesterday was not a NSD - I needed to have wine so i went out and got some and savoured every last drop
I don't like life very much this week , I'm feeling very overwhelmed with life and upset with myself for letting to take bearing on me
I couldn't begin to explain why I feel like this
I was intending to make a doctors appointment but I keep missing the surgery time - I don't want happy pills , I just want to feel happier !0 -
How about Lisbon or Rome for your short break? Italy can be expensive though but it would be comparable to Venice. Loads to do in Lisbon and more economical. It has a great train service out to the neighbouring villages/towns. Shame about your mood at the moment but I daresay your home situation and your mums problems are not helping. The plumbing problem sounds expensive. Could be a valve problem somewhere.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
