Might it be an idea to lodge a formal complaint and list all the times you have had no connection, waited in for engineers and had poor customer service/ support etc. You don`t see any likelihood of matters being resolved and you`re looking at other more reliable providers etc? Fingers crossed.

Yay to the jam success, CCL! I knew you could do it. People are often put off jam making because their first attempt either fails to set or sets like concrete. Sounds like a creative mix of ingredients too. I think jam should be tangy. It's made of fruit! If people just want hugely sweet toast with no discernible fruit tang, they may as well just sprinkle sugar on it!
Agree about the biscuits. They usually last up to about a week in a really airtight tin, but with gifting, it's a case of building in a little bit of time at the other end so the recipient doesn't have to eat them all at once...... though admittedly that's not a problem in our house, where home baked biscuits are our downfall.
Still haven't decided what to make with the last bag of my blackberries. So far I've done jam, blackberry & pear gin (a double batch) & blackberry vinegar.

  • Good on you with the jam. Sounds delish. Did you have to buy jam jars to put them in for gifting? If so, where from? I'm contemplating the idea too.

You can buy them speky But they can be expensive. I just reuse jars that I already have, as long as they haven't had something like garlic in the before they'll be fine. If you are to buy them w1lko do some reasonable ones I seem to remember.

I do not have your patience re poor customer service. I gave BT two goes at sorting out a problem and like you had no result and no promised call backs. Then emailed the CEO and was sorted in 3 days.
  • Yay - survived my first day back at work. Not really sure how... I didn't sleep well, and didn't want to get up this morning at all. It's dark mornings and evenings all the way now which makes things a little bit harder.
I am very frustrated with BT - not the first time I've had issues with them either. I had to get the CEO involved last time, and may consider doing the same again. I kind of feel as though I shouldn't be paying at all for my service until it's sorted. Really not my fault they keep mucking up again and again. However, I just desperately want my broadband doing what it should be.
Busy at work today - which is what I get for not doing very much at home over the hols. It was all just on my desk waiting for me when I got back. Still - got my tests marked and planned all of my lessons. It does mean that I've had to bring work home with me tonight. Already. Ugh.
Got home and my cleaner has been. Picked up dd's duvet on the way home too so she can stop moaning about having to use blankets instead of her quilt. Now just need her to stop moaning about cat fleas. I've spent a fortune on sprays and treatments - they must be dying now. Just need to hoover every day for the next fortnight now and hope for the best. I hate fleas. Suppose I've been lucky to get to owning cats for 7 years without having ever had this problem in the past.
Managed to avoid shops today so have chalked up my first nsd of the month. Now just need to get these couple of lessons planned and hopefully enjoy some crochet before I flake out for the night.

  • Regarding biscuits for Christmas gifts, would you be able to make the dough in advance and freeze it then just bake as needed?

I can't follow my own suggestion as my freezers are completely rammed, I'm at the stage where i take something out to make a meal and the leftovers take up more room than the original item :rotfl:

If you write to the Chairman or CEO's office, it becomes a priority case so get that email or letter sent. As Beanie said, it shouldn't be like that but it is
