Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 3 - A New Beginning

That's a cracking idea BB - thank you.
I'm checking in early today, from work. But I'm on my lunch break in case anyone thinks I'm slacking and not doing anything. I have been incredibly busy this morning, even though my heart's not in it and I feel absolutely shattered.
I was woken by ds at 4.55am. The noise of the bad weather outside had woken him, scared him and he couldn't get back to sleep. I put the telly on (noise distraction), gave him a cuddle and he fell asleep almost straight away. I was not so lucky and that was me for the day...I got up and went downstairs to sit and have a cuppa before I got ready for work. It was nice to have a bit of time in front of the telly but I am feeling very tired now.
The cats were most displeased with me. Apart from the fact that I have flea'd them, forced them to be combed and allowed them free run of the house it was obviously my fault that it was wet and windy outside and whilst they wanted to be out, obviously the weather wasn't that suitable for them. I have one particularly moany cat (I nickname him the ginger whinger) who shouted at me for a good few minutes before attempting to eat his breakfast or sitting down anywhere. I don't know how we're getting on with flea treatment but I haven't had any new bites (touch wood) although I am spending a lot of time fretting about it. I really hope they are all dying.
Anyway. Back to it - nothing to report this end. Just already feeling as though half term was another lifetime ago...Not giving up

Our cat has also been blaming me for the rain today, CCL. Yes, I caused all the rain, then refused to vacate my space on the sofa to him because it's the end he prefers.
So my knitting yarn got a chomp...... followed by my leg!
My sis (teacher) had a good day at school today. She went to find her last class & they weren't there! They were on a school trip she didn't know about. Result!

I think we might be winning with the flea situation. We're only finding dead ones at the moment, and keeping the house nice and warm to hatch the pupae so we can kill them too. DD is only finding poo and dead bodies when she combs the cats now. Ginger ninja took his revenge on my last night by preferring to be out while there were fireworks everywhere and making me fret that he was going to die - then calmly coming in at about 10pm with a whinge because it was still raining.
I am not winning the sleep situation, nor the financial situation. However I am not panicking about it today, which is a bonus. I just need to remain focussed on the end goal of getting court finished and getting on with my life. I've been too busy with work to think about much else today - work is busy and Wednesday is my least favourite day because I'm out of my own classroom, on duty and have my after school meeting night. On top of that, I'm currently facing a 45 minute commute each way, which is double what it usually is, thanks to a combination of bad weather and roadworks. Ah well. I honestly don't remember having any time off last week at all :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I mean, it's almost 9pm and I have done literally nothing since I got home except eat and get into my pyjamas. And now it's bedtime. Just about. I need to crochet. Not giving up

It is a school night, you are fed and comfy.
Sounds like a win to me.
- what is it that you think you should be doing? or is it just 'one of those feelings' like you haven't got anything done? Sometimes you just have to relax or you go crazy.
One of the mums at the school gates was telling me that after tea every night she and her daughter go on an at least 5 mile walk.
She does not even have a dog. I could understand it if she had a dog. She does it by choice.
I don't even do the washing up every night after tea!

I think that it's an anxiety thing to be honest. I feel like I need to not be 'lazy' or that b**ch voice in my head tells me how lazy I am and useless and good for nothing.
It's all thanks to childhood emotional abuse, which I took over doing to myself once I wasn't living at home any more, and it's so ingrained in me that I often forget to follow the advice I give to other people. Not giving up

So very tired. I've been a bit lax getting online the past couple of days because work has kept me so busy and I've just wanted to rest when I've finally gotten home in the evening. Went grocery shopping after work on Thursday (£47.60) and then last night just needed to crash out on the sofa. I cancelled a night out because I was so tired and couldn't justify the cost of it.
So apologies if you were waiting with baited breath for the latest installment in my life - but I was just shattered.
Anyway - I got home on Thursday night to a letter from my solicitor with a copy of the latest court order, and the next court date, which is 7th January. More delayBut hopefully there will finally be progress to report then, and we will have managed to find ex and serve him with the papers. Then once it's all sorted I can get on with trying to sort my finances once and for all. I've had a look through everything this morning to see where else I can cut back and hopefully manage to do Christmas without further debt. I've ordered a present for ds using points and vouchers and need to continue in that vein.
I woke up with a stinking headache this morning - may be the 1 (large) gin I had when I finally stopped last night. I've maxed out on painkillers and am hoping for the best. However, I've still been quite productive - made a couple of phone calls I've been repeatedly putting off because I hate using the phone, done two loads of washing, washed the dishes, changed the cat litter and put the rubbish and recycling out. Now I'm getting caught up on here and then am going to crochet. I knew there was something wrong with the border on my latest blanket, and I finally saw this morning that I've put it on the wrong side of the blanket so I've had to undo the whole lot. Boo hiss.
Later on, me and dd are going to town to pick up a couple of items from shops that she's ordered on click and collect. It will be a very short trip because I hate town on a Saturday and it's scarily close to Christmas, and I still have no money. However, I do need to check out what's what in Primarni as I'm looking out for a bathrobe for ds and am yet to find one I like that will also fit him. May also check out one or two of the charity shops, but I'm less bothered about that.
Also need to do a bit of cooking - I have veggies needing to be used up. But I really need to sort my headache out before I can do much else.

Hi CCL,
Re: your headache - you may be dehydrated!
Hope you feel better soon xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Hope you got the headache beaten.
DS2 (15) had a Primarni bathrobe last year - one of the fleece ones - I got an s from the menswear dept and it's lovely and still going strong. Alternatively, I recommend Dunelm if you have one nearby - DS1 has had a fleece and a towelling version from them over the last couple of years and both look as good as new.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Hope you had a lovely weekend and beat that headache.
January 7th is Christmas Day in the Julian calendar, and many Orthodox Christians still celebrate then. I hope it is a day of celebration for you too.
It is lovely when ds's reaches the age a ladies shortie dressing gown fits. Girls get a much better range of colours than the boys, so mine have all been in a plush jewel coloured velvet shortie from about the age of 11. Of course they think they are jedis as they are long on them.

Where has my weekend gone??? I don't want to go back to school tomorrow
Never mind. It's been marginally productive. I was in town with dd for just over an hour yesterday, it was after 3pm before my head cleared enough for me to go out. Lots of liquid (thanks nat) and lots of paracetamol. I completely agree about dressing gown colours for boys f0xh0les. I did end up getting a fleecy one from Primarni mens section (so I'm pleased to hear they're ok joey) - but the only choices were navy, burgundy or grey. Bit disappointing but I will bear in mind women's for the future.
Also got some clothes for dd to put away from Christmas, and something for dd to give to her brother for Christmas as well. I'm very slowly getting there. Also booked an appointment for dd to get her hair highlighted as a further Christmas gift. She's going to have very little on the day itself but her beauty regime costs a packet, and hair and nails right before Christmas is £100 so that will use up all the money I get from my parents to buy stuff for her.
Today has been a quieter day - went tutoring *much needed* then went to my mam's for lunch and catch up. I'm a bit worried about her actually - her physical health isn't great and it's starting to impact on her mentally. Plus she retires in a fortnight, and whilst outwardly she's really excited about it - I do wonder if there are some nerves about what might happen next, after she's worked for the past 50 years... I will make sure I contact her regularly during the week just to check on her. She keeps apologising to me but has absolutely nothing to apologise for.
Spent this afternoon tidying, respraying the house with flea treatment and doing a bit of crochet. DS has just asked me to crochet a poppy for tomorrow *eyeroll* - leaving it until the last possible minute. So I'd better get on.Not giving up
