buyers no longer leaving feedback

It's a bit more complicated than it seems. Have you checked your performance metrics under account health? The actual feedback page that everyone can see isn't of great importance to Amazon.charlies_mum wrote: »I have a problem on Amazon. I have sold over 2000 items and my feedback is 42 and falling. Unfortunately I had to cancel an order due to the item being damaged in storage, and received a 1 * negative from the buyer so I am heading towards zero feedback at this rate.
They take other factors into account but generally speaking it's how many order defects you've had in 90 days as a portion of total sales. If you've had 200 transactions and only one defect then that defect will be 0.5% which is acceptable to Amazon.
They could put a rolling hold on your disbursements if there is a sudden change..0 -
I'm almost exclusively a Buyer on eBay, and I always used to feedback for everything I bought.
I've pretty well stopped recently for 2 reasons:
1) Absolutely everything I do online seems to want me to provide feedback these days. My time is too valuable, so I just decided to ignore it all. eBay used to be a bit novel in being somewhere that you could leave feedback - now everybody asks for it.
2) When I started using eBay 18 years ago, most of the sellers were private sellers selling things that often meant that we had shared interests/hobbies. Today most of what I buy is BIN from large business sellers, so it's no different to buying from Amazon or Tesco - again, that makes me much less willing to leave feedback.

Similar. Have bought for years, always leave feedback. Have sold probably close to 80 items in the last three years, less than 10 feedback as a seller.Alfrescodave wrote: »Have been a long time buyer on ebay and conscientiously always left feedback but recently became a seller and have been amazed how little feedback is left. I think buyers just can't be bothered any more, especially with the nagging emails, and the bother you can get if you leave less than great feedback.
Plus pretty much every online retailer, not just ebay and Amazon, seems to want feedback now, and life is too short!0 -
I don't get much feedback either.
I think the ones leaving feedback are the ones who remember old school ebay. eBay has changed so much to be like other online retailers that I think younger/newer buyers just aren't aware of the feedback system and how it benefits both buyers and sellers.
I'm not really a fan of how eBay has morphed over the years, it's lost almost all of what made it unique!0 -
No one seems to leave it anymore - whether they are a buyer or a seller.
I have had about 100 transactions in the last month both as a buyer and a seller, probably had feedback for about 10.
People just seem to not be that bothered about it anymore... yet people still check feedback before bidding on an item from a seller so it is an odd oneFriends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -
I find giving feedback rather tiresome as it seems a pointless exercise unless there is an unresolved issue.
With Ebay it is possibly a reaction to them presenting themselves as a 'community' when clearly they are a commercial organisation with a dubious attitude to paying taxes.0 -
I always leave feedback on eBay, as a buyer (I don’t sell on there) but then again, I do check sellers feedback before I buy so it’s only fair that I contribute to the system. And no, the odd neg doesn’t put me off from buying from a seller, they’re nearly always silly comments about item arriving 2 days late or “blouse was a bit small” etc, etc.
I rarely bother on any other site, unless the item or the buying experience has been particularly good for me. I recently bought a Velcro-fixed netting for my kitchen window, to stop neighbourhood cats from coming into my kitchen. The vendor, who is clearly running his own small business, couldn’t have been more helpful and I left feedback stating this. But I don’t bother after buying say, a kettle from Argos!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
I have never really understood the feedback idea for the likes of Amazon, Ebay and the like
You don't write to the manager of your local Tesco after buying something there or even for online purchases from other companies so why for Ebay?
If Ebay expect people to provide feedback (in both directions) then it should be mandatory and action taken if it doesn't happen.0
