Have been a Lloyd's customer on and off since Uni.
Would recommend Club Lloyds as mentioned above. I use my recently opened Lloyd's CC (+ cashback) for one of the DDs.

The cinema tickets are a god send as average peak cinema tickets are around £10-12 where I live - plus they now include Cineworld in their cinema ticket offer.

I have a CL monthly saver and a standard RS ...

Someone on another thread has pointed out a hidden benefit of their Gourmet Club offer.

I've just upgraded to Club Lloyds as I need somewhere to keep £5k while we are doing work on the house as I'm not sure when I'll need it. I thought I may as well get cinema tickets as well!
  • Ha, thanks people! Took this out in the end...

Does anyone NOT get the cinema tickets?! :D
  • Just got thier letter telling me the interest rate is going down and the offers these days are appalling. I will move when allowed to!

A plus point is it gives you access to their Club monthly saver - which is for between £25 - £400 at 3%.
It's instant access too if you ever get stuck and need to withdraw it.

Not a bad account - at 2% on 5K was good, at 1.5% drops it back to average i think.

I have the gourmet club membership but think next year might change to the cinema tickets as dont really use the gourmet club cards.

Move when allowed to - I didnt think Club Lloyds accounts tied you into anything? Offers these days appalling - I thought they were pretty much the same offers for quite a few years, magazine, gourmet club or cinema tickets mostly.

I was expecting to see comment from Martin today re Lloyds Club accounts !

Received a letter yesterday telling me that on 1st July 2018 my Club Platinum Account Fee was increasing and that the 2% interest on balances up to £5000 is being reduced to 1.5%. I shall be reducing my credit balance from July and putting it in a fixed saver (such as Atom) from that date.

A drop of £25/annum in interest on an account charging >£200/annum in account fees - not really comparing apples with apples though - Atom bank is fixed rate locking the money away for a minimum of 12 months for a differential of 0.3% on 5K. MSE Martins comment would possibly be more like drop to a Club Lloyds with a waived fee and shop around for the travel & mobile insurance that comes with the Lloyds Platinum account.

Which is not bad as a lot of reg savers are limited to £200/£250pcm.

Cash back offers at eat out places I don’t use.
Interest rate reduced, yet last year my mortgage went up.
    Local branch closed.
    Flock up on updating mortgage.
    Abysmal rates on accounts.

And the others are no better. I left twit fest they they tried to rip me off!

Instead of them sending you 'free' magazines each month and some reductions to places, I'd much prefer them to up the interest rate and get rid of these 'perks'.

This account was paying 4% not so long ago, which then got lowered to 2%, and to be now 1.5%
