"Outraged of Royal Tunbridge Wells!" springs to mind!
I bet you were livid when Waitrose stopped offering free coffee in their cafes too!0 -

Presumably the Waitrose CS rep upheld your preposterous complaint because they have a seven year old child and realised that having a sensible dialogue with you about it would be futile.0

The Post Office State they do ask standard questions

I do have to wonder, given you've complained about two post offices, if they were trying to get rid of you. Especially as the complaint was completely spurious and would have most people rolling their eyes.
Why do I get the feeling the complaint was sent using green ink?
I'm not sure the OP's initial complaint was entirely spurious. I don't think the Post Office staff are supposed to be asking to be told what is in the parcel and I really don't think they need to know specifically. Simply pointing the customer to the list of prohibited items and saying "Does the parcel contain any of these?" is sufficient, and it's exactly what my local PO does.
I can imagine there are more than a few items that are perfectly fine to send, but you might feel a tad embarrassed to tell someone that you're sending. And of course the concern that nearby customers are likely to hear what it is too.
Of course I doubt the OP was in that situation as they just appear to like making complaints but it's not entirely without merit.0 -
Im so glad you asked me this because i contacted the post office about this branch and another and when they telephoned me they told me i was correct. I had complained about another Post Office which were awful and there were also security concerns about how they operated too.
The post Offices upheld my complaint c gave extra training at the bad Post Office and they also contacted Waitrose and gave them training on the procedure included a help line for all Post offices to called if they are unsure about a problem or situation
The Post Office upheld my complaint and sent me a gesture of goodwill and Waitrose on examining my complaint, also upheld it and sent me a gesture of goodwill
Hahahah and you believe this! They set up a helpline?! Hahaha0 -
Customer hands over parcel. PO employee asks what is in the package. Customer answers "It's XXX". Customer's time wasted, 10 seconds.
OP hands over parcel. PO employee asks what is in the package. OP gets incandescent as they answered that question when they purchased their postage online, tears the employee off a strip. OP goes home and then spends several hours phoning and emailing both Waitrose and the PO about having spent an extra 10 seconds more than necessary in handing over their parcel. OP is further incensed when Waitrose email him a customer satisfaction survey. Time it would take a reasonable person to read and delete said message - 10 seconds. OP fires off further emails / makes more calls/ posts on an online forum about the egregious use of his personal data/ starts an official complaint with the ICO ........
Someone has too much time on their hands if 10 seconds of their time is worth so much aggravation.0 -

But those questions are asked and answered online when buying online postage. If you don't accept, you don't get the online postage.
I took a pre-paid (return issued by Ebay seller) to a local PO on Monday. I wasn't asked the contents.Keeping my trotters warm :rolleyes:0
