I could see it being embarrassing if the answer was “a vibrator” but I suspect the OP wasn’t trying to post a sex toy.
She wasnt selling on eBay or Amazon She had her own website and she described herself as a manufacturer and supplier .
When i asked he what she made and sold the Postmaster heard this and moved from on foot to the other he seemed a ltitle embarrassed.
She told me that she makes fetish wear and sources and sells bespoke adult entertainment equipment . and clothing. I swapped details with her and for about 7 months i sold her products on ebay and Amazon. She eventually started selling all her stuff on ebay and amazon herself and we are still friends. Going to a different Post office before i bought online postage was interesting to see the reaction when i was asked the contents when i was selling her products and I never shipped batteries.0 -
I shipped a wobbulator once and got a funny reaction again when asked what it was. I told a another post office queue regular when asked what Graphics application do you use? I answered Gimp and he seemed disgusted. I said google "gimp graphics package". When i saw him again he said he was astonished that such and acronym is used on a product. No one ever ordered gimp equipment btw.
A benefit of using online postage through ebay and or paypal is the actually address is already there and auto loaded etc.
When a Post Office staffer asks me the contents on prepaid i know they have not been trained and this also raises a flag with Post Office Counters LTD that there may be other issues. This what they told me0 -
Some years ago i was standing by a gothically dress styled lady with a lot of parcels at a Post Office. I saw the parcels and asked do you sell on Amazon and eBay.

Bit hypocritical! You asked her what SHE was sending!?! I hope she put in a complaint about you to your mum.0 -
In the process I emailed the Waitrose CEO and their customer complaints team and also spoke on the telephone to them.[...] I received an unexpected email from a market research company unknown to me asking me to click on the link in their email to comment on my experiences with Waitrose. [...] I have not given permission for my personal data to be used in this way [...]
Come Fri 25 May 2018, this cannot legally happen unless you give permission. :cheesy:
I interpret your posting to be that Waitrose are one of the many companies preparing themselves for the new strict GDPR rules coming into force with handling customers data[...] I have not given permission for my personal data to be used in this way [...]
I agree with you there!
Your email address is similar (in my view) to your front door key or car key.
Giving Waitrose a short trip in your car as a passenger does not mean they can copy your car key and pass it on. If you gave permission to do so - which you didnt - then I can see why you got the goodwill gesture recognition x2.
Similarly, letting Waitrose know where you live (emailing them) or inviting Waitrose into your house (telephoning them) does not mean they can take your door key WITHOUT your permission and let themselves back in at any time or make copies of your door key and give to their friends (market research company)
Roll on Fri 25 May 2018!0 -
Your email address is your personal data as is you car number plate if it is registered to you as a private individual0

:rotfl:
do you chastise people for looking at your car?0 -
im so glad you asked me this you have reminded me of a visit to a council location recently. A private company obo the council were inputing car number plates onto a tablet. When I queried the use I got response whether the car was registered to use the council site, the council database gave a three stage response. When I queried "how are you processing my data", i was shown the tablet and i was presented with a screen full of number plates which been processed. What i was shown was other peoples data and how it had been processed which breaches the data protection act maybe principles 1, 2 and 7, Clearly the system and tablet application was not fit for purpose and the staff using it were not trained.
Yeah but now there’s a iPad vehicle number plate helpline!0
