Plus it's free money. If you don't ask, you don't get. Simple. I asked and I got.
You haven't suffered a financial loss, so it isn't compensation.0 -
Simple answer...read the MSE email weekly email, where it it advised people to claim for inconvenience.
Please remember that TSB are at fault. Not people for complaining.
I've already addressed this and made very clear what I think about this opportunistic, greedy, money grabbing. Just because MSE has said to do it, it doesn't mean that it is right.0 -

I have yet to see a post relating to requests for compensation that are honest and valid, so far all I have read is a bunch of socialists out to get free money and put the boot into the system - I hope one day when they mess up the bank does not reciprocate with such treatment.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
On the contrary - if everyone complains and then rejects the derisory offer it it goes to the F.O scheme.
That will cost TSB £500 in F.O fees for each complaint.
So if 500,000 people complain the bill will be £250m in fees before we consider any compensation due - all of which should be an adequate "incentive" to get it right in future.
As regards loss - the world is changing and courts are now awarding compensation for being messed about and for your time in sorting things out even where there is no monetary loss.
Here is one example:
£2000 awarded for waste of time

No it won't. High Street banks pay a group fee to the FOS. The case fee applies to small businesses.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -

I have standing orders which pay into and out of my TSB accounts on the 1st of the month. I have 2, my wife has 2 and we have 2 joint.
I checked earlier and everything had happened correctly - I have checked again in the last 10 mins and for 4 of the accounts the £500 has “gone in” again but has not come out of the account I pay them from twice, so our total balance is £2000 higher than it should be?!?
Someone’s got something wrong!!!0 -

Ignoring the fact that you are wrong about the cost of FOS complaints, your view is deluded if you think that costing TSB a significant amount will be helpful. This was a platform migration and as such not something that they are likely to repeat for decades, so there is no such incentive to them to "get it right" next time.
It is wrong to expect a "compensation" payment when you have suffered no loss, and it is wrong of MSE to encourage people to seek this.0 -
That's life.
It is right for most people including me. :rotfl::rotfl:

No, it isn't right. Moral relativism is a flawed argument. By the logic you present there should be no such thing as crime, because it's just life that people will seek to satisfy their own desires, but humans have eschewed such selfish behaviour in recognition that there are greater goods and that we are stronger as a species if we form a society. Societies need rules.
Your view is immoral.0
