Carpet cleaning device involved a place for storing of water, many kind of wands to pressurize water, drying part and an additional heating element to heat up water.Soaked cleaning systems naturally use period, which has led to person concerns about very slow drying. Wet shampoo cleaning along with rotary machines, followed by soaked vacuuming.

I'm sorry but I can't get my head around this reply....

I am another whose vote goes for the Rug Doctor. Have had a vax but not overly impressed. Also have a steam cleaner which is great for general use but once a year certain areas(like where the dog lies) needs 'soap and scrubbing' to clean thoroughyl.
  • I have a vax and it is ok - won' t shift dirt in heavy traffic areas to my satifaction though. It is really easy to over-wet your carpets with it and if you do they can end up smelling like a wet dog. I'm thinking of calling in the Rug Doctor before xmas as a treat for myself.
  • It works ok - it doesn't do wonders and remove all stains, but it freshens them up and if you work it hard on stains it does make them disappear or lessens them - but takes alotr of work

That's 'cos it's a domestic machine-it will only clean the very top of the pile.

A professional clean by a proper cleaner will do a deeper, better clean...but at a price!

I use Stardrops in my Vax Rapide but i go easy when refilling because of the suds.It bring my carpets up better than other stuff.

The problem with using something like Stardrops or cheap carpet 'shampoo' is that it leaves a residue in the pile of the carpet.

It looks great but your carpet will get dirtier quicker-any dirt will stick to the residue.

Get a professional in and ask him to use a 'Microsplitter', done properly it's completely residue free.

LOL! I thought it was only me that didn't understand it...

    :)
  • I borrowed a Kerstar Robin from a mate before for cleaning a carpet with very old ground in stains. Good results.
The machine was very good build so I bought a Kerstar vacuum cleaner KV 350 when my vaccum cleaner needed replacement. Dysons, hoovers Electroluxes and the like look very plasticky in comparison now..
I have a Numatic George. It was OK for annual (not too much dirt accumulation) cleaning but it's currently in bits. It's not very well integrated - quite clumpy and there are too many attachments for it, so uses up a lot of storage space.

Friend of my brother-in-law has a business cleaning carpets. The supply and extraction plant is fitted in the back of his van and he runs supply and extract hoses into the premises he is cleaning carpets in. He cleaned my neighbour's carpets and the results were better than a standalone machine.

Cold water extraction machines will leave shampoo residue unless you iterate the cleaning with water only (rinse) cycles. Some of the residue is surfactant so will aid cleaning next time round.
  • i have a white carpet, and after i got sick of paying £20 every 2-3 months on getting the carpet cleaned with a rug doctor, i decided to splash out an buy a vax. what a waste of money. all i got was an expensive carpet cleaner, i wasted 2 hours trying to do one room (which wud take me 15 mins with the rug doctor) and it was still mucky, but not to mention wet.
There was little suction to remove the dirty water from the pile, and then for days after u were walking around with damp socks, or damp bottoms of slippers!
i also found trying to find the solution for the vax hard and very expensive, the solution i purchased for the RD, was £14 for 15 litres, and i only used 150ml for 9 litres of water, so it lasts the year. the vax stuff is no longer stocked my local tesco or asda for the reasonable price of £3.66 ish, however it is still available online through vax for around £8 per few litres, and not to mention the £5 postage and packaging. i decided to get rid and cut my loses and i donated my vax to a charity shop and am now more than happy to pay the £20 for the RD every few months as its quick, efficient and has fantastic results and looks like a new carpet each and every time.

Rugdoctor = £50 to hire once for 24 hours
    Bissell = £100 and yours forever ;)

£50, where do u get them from? B&Q hire the RD for 24 hours for £19.98, or for 48 hours £34.99.
For the commerical use, or large rooms, they have a much larger RD, even those are still way less than the £50 per 24 hours.
  • go to prochem and look at their spot and stain removal machine around 400pound but will last a lifetime plus give you really good results trust me on this
