    Dowd-land has turned into Siberia.

Came over all unwell and spent most of the day embracing the duvet.

Managed to make soup and sorbet and then opted for bought fish and chips for dinner. Didn't buy two portions: bought one piece of fish, one portion of chips and one portion of spicy chips and shared each element.

Morning all :hello: thanks for starting us off 1LL

Full and rainy here so definitely and inside sort of day. DH and I will both go to the gym at some point though. Other things:

Got a bag of frozen BNS out of freezer to make soup
Got mince out for tea and some bacon for sandwiches
Must label some clothes today for sale
    Washing shuffle on radiators
Put a load of washing away
Get some clothes back up in loft that are too big for one and too small for the other
    List some stuff on fleabay
Pay last months childcare bill, use vouchers through work scheme
Do meal plan for the week. Restrict spends by shopping from home first
Double check nothing on the turn needs using up

Enjoy your day folks, whatever you decide to do.

Productive day all round. Didn't manage the gym as my back was playing up but in addition to the above, I also:
Built a cheap unit we bought last week that DH had stained to make it look not so cheap :o
Sorted dining room, finally, been on my annoying things list for too long
Sorted 3 craft boxes and several pencil cases to some sort of order
Sorted 5 boxes and 3 bags of clothes. All but 2 boxes are back in the loft but folded and labelled.
    Sorted under stairs cupboard
    Sorted a bag of shoes
General tidy round and some dusting
Long soak in bath using some products up
Listed 2, yes, stop the press, 2 items on fleabay :rotfl:
Saved the butter wrapper for when I need to grease something
    Cut up quiche and froze
Froze 2 and a half red chillis
Use 2 x frozen half portions of meat stock in 2 things I made today
Watched a gifted dvd with smalls tonight

Hopefully, I'll sleep well tonight :D

Well I'm back from a very pricy week in London/Eurodisney. Didnt spend anywhere near as much as i could have and were really careful but my goodness London is expensive - seriously how do people manage to live there?? - money just flowed through my fingers like water  Really glad I managed to budget for the rest of the week and had already put aside money for spends so ended up coming in about £30 over budget which I'm fairly happy with.

Also mislaid my husband's smart key for onliine banking - HSBC have these rediculous smart key things that you need to use to log in - theyre tiny, easily lost and a pain in the bum. I somehow mislaid ours just before we went away and we dont know our password anymore either due to their stupid systems so had no way to log on or get at DH's wages while we were awayI know its all supposed to keep money secure but its so secure that even I cant get it!!! All in all that meant I had to put some stuff on the CC. i'll clear it as soon as I can get at his money but its still so annoying as I'd not used the CC since xmas

Anyway rant over - I'm now determined to get back on track so the plan is:

:A online shop done at Mr T - came in £5.39 under budget - that will go on the xmas savings card
:A used £7 off a £50 spend voucher for the above shop
:A £8.80 interest from savings account added to debt jar
:A 20p roadkill added to debt jar
    :A £12.50 paid on CC
:A aiming for 7 NSD this month
    :A few surveys done
:A snaffled a load of free toiletries from hotel while away
:A no heating on today - extra jumpers all round
:A had to go to nearest town to took opportunity to have a browse in the huge Lidal thats just opened there bought a huge piece of pork for £3 - will put it in the slow cooker this week to make pulled pork - should get a fair few portions from it

Not much at this stage but its a start.
Total debts £21050! now £10941. 76. Total extra income made in Jan22 £109. 27 Feb 22 £45.25 Total extra income made in 2022 £154.52 Aiming for debt free at 45 - 41 months to go!
  • Hi :D late one for me - work ended up going on later than expected so didn't finish till 10! Am now off until Friday :j So get to spend the week with madam

Not much to report but work so not online or out spending and I got paid time and a 3rd :D

B/L/D from stores - managed to stick to a diet :T Christ until after Easter is always a dark time diet wise for me as I eat loads of chocolate and junk food :o Now back on it! Must be healthy!

received email from sky to say I have overpaid by £41 and they are sending me a cheque :T

Up early again :( I'm really struggling for a full nights sleep at the moment. Thankfully not at work today :D things to do:

Have reconciled banking as lots has gone out (DDs) with the first falling over bh
Tried to reconcile just for points cc, but need to work out work expenses and it's too early for that sort of nonsense, will do later
Move interest to a 'pot' to give it a job - done
More reading have on shares investment - will talk to DH later, and also about his pension
More research on plastic alternatives, going to give myself a small budget to buy a few items over the next few months when picnic season is in full force in our house - done
Check MSE credit report thingy - an old mobile phone contract is still showing as an active account, will add to annoying things list
    Cook chickpeas I soaked yesterday
Something out of freezer for tea
DH not working until tonight so we're going to a family yoga and mindfulness session today :A
DH and I both to gym, I may just be swimming and having a sauna as back still sore. Will see after yoga
Get DH to call and cancel insurance so we can get other policy
Get 2 x new tyres on DH car that they didn't have Friday, pay from piggy
Will try and label some clothes tonight if I get the chance, have also spied a couple of games that could go to
More washing to go away and shuffle around to dry, about caught up :D

    Morning all,
Feeling 'up & at it' today. Much better night's sleep as naughty gallbladder has calmed down. So a productive day planned today:
*Upstairs heaters to be turned right down.
*More rubber lamb.....shepherds pie to make & bones will go in slow cooker for stock.
*Bake a wholemeal loaf as v low on bread.
*Overnight laundry done on cheap tariff. Rainy today so will have to use heated airer. Washer reloaded for another cheap overnight load.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
    *Pot up baby chilli plants.
*Update budgets & move some funds around.
*Post two sold items & wrap a third.
*Photograph & list 10 items on ebay.
*Crochet around little squares for my throw - all squares knitted now - 160 of them!
*Write up kitchen calendar as we have now sorted our diaries until end of July.
    *Declutter a drawer.
*Check shrapnel pot to see if I can bag up any coins for banking.
And eat more healthily or my summer clothes will be tight!
    Have a good week, all.

ILL you've inspired me to do madam scrambled eggs, thank you! Yes I am enjoying my new job :D I like the working pattern, I like that because there are such gaps between shifts and everyone works this way you don't get the office politics like I have been caught in in 9-5 mon-fri jobs :D I like having double the money!

spudsmum sounds like you had a great holiday  Hope you get your bank stuff sorted today and well done on all the extra payments you've made!

Am now off until Friday  (although I go for a minor op tomorrow ) today I am taking madam to a local pottery cafe to paint something. Will catch the bus ;) and visit the library. And go and get my final pieces of material to start my quilt :j:j:j:j

Tomorrow we will have vegetable curry with rice and salad. All I need to do is get it out of the freezer! Oh can make the salad and rice ;)
    * do singing exercises
    * finish my sock today :T I just have the toe decrease, casting off and darning in the threads left
[STRIKE]* quick spruce around to stay on top of the house[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]* check onepoll[/STRIKE]
    * plant seeds - this is my no 1 priority today!
    * make parsnip soup to use up parsnips

[STRIKE]* wash dressing gown for tomorrow[/STRIKE]

    Morning folks!

I'm not caught up with the thread yet so my apologies if I've missed something. I need to get my list done though before I forget everything.

Today is the penultimate day with my PITA freelancer. :D
    • B/L/D from stores. Took pizza dough out of the freezer. - done
    • Gym at lunch time - done
    • Emailed OH's new finances template to him - done
    • Reconcile budget sheet - done
    • Find out if I can have the 2 days off in May that I want - if so, there will be some holiday type spends! - yay! Holiday granted. Not mse but def good for the soul
    • Knit sock! - DNMS - how are you getting on? I am half way down the foot. I slowed down after several abortive attempts on the heel (basically I wasn't concentrating on the instructions!) - done
    • Attempt to be calm at work (very trying so far. thank God that I'm only in for 2 days) - have not gotten stabby today :D
