When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money::):):)
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all :hello: thanks for starting us off 1LL

Full and rainy here so definitely and inside sort of day. DH and I will both go to the gym at some point though. Other things:

Got a bag of frozen BNS out of freezer to make soup
Got mince out for tea and some bacon for sandwiches
Must label some clothes today for sale
    Washing shuffle on radiators
Put a load of washing away
Get some clothes back up in loft that are too big for one and too small for the other
    List some stuff on fleabay
Pay last months childcare bill, use vouchers through work scheme
Do meal plan for the week. Restrict spends by shopping from home first
Double check nothing on the turn needs using up

Enjoy your day folks, whatever you decide to do.

    * Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App.

    * Check online banking and broadband usage. Going to need a top-up.

    * Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.

    * Batch cooking.

Goodness Ally, I can't believe that a rail company rep stated that they never expect passengers who pay 000's a year to stand. They certainly did on my old commute - must be a different company :rotfl:

And how on earth will overstretched train staff have time to check this additional ticket variation... oh well, time will tell I suppose!

Anyway, yet another wet day here, so I am glad I got outside to do a couple of niggly garden jobs yesterday. My seed potatoes and broad bean (plants) could do with planting but the soil is too wet to walk on or dig (and I need to do both on the patch where they are going) :(

OH is absorbed in something in his workshop, so I will occuy myself indoors today:
Whizzed around with hoover while OH was out with the dog (Done)
DD1 is supposed to be popping in for a coffee en route to DD2's to deliver a bed that her children are now too old for (the type with a slide :)) Small GD is super excited to be inheriting her cousins' amazing bed :rotfl:Will be able to give the kids their Easter eggs and GD2 her birthday present :)Done, they arrived late as usual :rotfl:, but lovely to see them :)
Plenty of leftovers for lunch and dinner today :)Done
Need to start a shopping list, may go later as one item is pretty urgent. Must check to see if there is enough to last till tomorrow. Hope so! I checked, and no need to go today :T
Check banks and update spreadsheets if necessary Done
Check for surveys One for Yougov
Exercises Done some, must do more, as it really is helping :T Managed to take the dog for a short walk today without limping / staggering - will try to do this every day going forward, until interrupted by my gall bladder op
Feeling inspired by Foxgloves' revamp of her conservatory yesterday - my 'conservatory' is really just a glass porch thing, but it is pretty untidy and a dumping ground, not helped by the fact that OH bought an umbrella stand to renovate the other day and dumped that in there as well  Might give it a tidy and evict the umbrella stand at least! Come to think of it the rest of the house could do with some attention as well. It is clean enough but there is stuff everywhere, much is due to OH, but my sales stuff also seems to be taking over. Much of it is pretty, but there is too much! Will have a think! Evicting OH might be easier, assuming I could evict his carp as well :rotfl:Not got very far with this...
Got a mincemeat cake in the oven :)

1LuckyLady thank you for getting us started today :A

I'm just popping on to subscribe to this weeks thread so it is easier to keep track of everything that is going on.

It has taken me ages as it wouldn't accept my password so I've needed to mess around resetting and changing it

I'll try popping in later to read what everybody has been up to and to report on today.

Take care and enjoy the snow if you have any.

    Morning everyone

Didn't do alot yesterday, felt really rough.

Didn't have the turkey steaks as planned, DD took Easter eggs over to DM and had a roast dinner there, I just had no appetite.
Didn't want the steaks to go off so threw them in the slow cooker last night, will prob have them today with chips and some veg.
1LL I had completely forgotten to finish off my month end. Ur missing £2 reminded me to do it, managed to complete this morning. Hope uve found the elusive £2!
I just do a month to month comparison, everything looking good and had left over from food treat budget so that will go into savings.i would be lost if I didn't do my budget book now

DD wants to go to Tesc@ today, happy to go with her as I need boxes ready to send my eBay parcels once they have paid but don't need any shopping, lots of leftovers to be used up

Tidied up the kitchen but need to give it a good clean later. DM sent over bits of chicken for the cats and it has left grease spots on the kitchen floor. There is a certain satisfaction to having a clean kitchen floor so this will be done today.

Paperwork later, will be good while elevating foot-still very swollen

Don't have plans to do anything else today but enjoy.

Have a good day everyone x
