Hi MT
I'm so sorry your dad is not having the happiest of times and sorry about your OH's car too. What is wrong with people!!!
Your summer to do list looks great you have so much drive, I hope that by reading your diary I can continue being motivated by you.
I hope you have a lovely week away.

Thank you Cat and StarMummy!
Was up early this morning (5.30!) - by brain hasn't realised I'm on holiday yet..... It didn't really matter though as I had to leave at 7.30 to meet mum "halfway" to exchange the dog for his holiday in sunny South Wales. Just back from an almost 300 mile round trip but thankfully the traffic wasn't too bad apart from the yukky bit through Birmingham. Stiff legs now!
At least he'll be safe and happy whilst I'm away. He's gone with his little case packed full of food, wee mats (he's getting up in the night now, he's 14 after all - 98 in human years!!), tablets and his bedding. He takes almost as much as I do on holiday!
It's really warm here but not sunny - sticky and humid. Hopefully, the sun will emerge later. I think I'll cut the grass so it's tidy for when I go away - the front is pretty much dead but with a few hardy weeds making it look even worse and the back has grown in strange patches. A little trim is in order.
Will do my legs good to have a stretch after all that sitting down driving.
If the sun stays hidden I'll also do a bit of holiday ironing and then tidy out the storage box in the downstairs loo and pack some school stuff away. That will tick off a couple of jobs from the list. If I feel the urge I'll scrub out the microwave too.
OH is playing golf this afternoon but I'll probably see him later this evening.
Will be continuing to use up food and toiletries in the house until I go away - used new potatoes, cheese and beans to make a strange but very yummy concoction last night with some left over for today. Have also used up the dregs of a conditioner and shower gel this morning.
Had a total no spend day yesterday (except the plumber that came out of savings) and apart from some extra diesel (£20, that I didn't end up needing but will be there when I get back from hols) I plan on not spending today too.
Right, enough sitting down for now - time to move a bit before I cease up completely!0 -
Happy holidays - I'm sure it must feel very peculiar for you to not have to be dashing off here, there and everywhere.
It must also be list day - OH is away for 4 days work so I've just written down a huge list of things to keep me occupied and stop me gawping at rubbish TV. However, if the sun comes out then I want to be outside and none of the list is stuff that can easily be done outside - I do have one friend who does her ironing out in the garden in a bikini but I draw the line at that.

All the newest best sellers from Karin Slaughter, Michael Connelly, Marian Keyes and Lee Child. Proper holiday reading - all bought at tesco for £4 each or less over the last couple of weeks.
I think you're right about the ironing - it's too hot to do indoors and I'm rubbish at it at the best of times let alone al fresco! It can wait until later.
Hope you enjoy your quiet time without OH, sometimes it's nice to have a bit of me time and space but I'm always happy when we're back together again.
So no ironing yet, but on the positive side I have cut both the front and back lawns and they both look better for it, if a bit forlorn. I've also tidied out the storage box in the downstairs loo and been brutal with stuff, no keeping just in case - if I haven't used it in a year it's gone! Old handbags, scarfs, tatty winter hats etc - gone.
I did find 5 pairs of good gloves, 4 pairs of which are nice leather or suede so I definitely don't need new ones this winterplus a bottle of useable perfume, a pack of tights, two lipsticks, an umbrella and about 30 pens!
I've also given the microwave a good scrub out and bleaching so all the kitchen appliances are now sparkly clean and I am no longer ashamed of them
The sun might be starting to peep through now so I think I'll have a little read in the garden for a while - I think I deserve a rest now.0 -
The sun was very disappointing - more in than out
As a result, I've done a load of washing, put everything ready for packing and packed the uncreasables, had tea and cleaned the kitchen and put the bins out ready for collection. Going over to OHs in a bit to save me going slowly loopy with boredom. Not having the dog gives you so much more time to fill.....
Have a few things to do tomorrow that will get me out and about - a hair appointment at 11.30, will try to pop to Selfridges to spend the voucher on new make up (need a new mascara and could do with a lipstick or gloss) and, if there's time before the hairdressers, maybe get my phone upgrade sorted.
My job from the summer list for tomorrow is to tidy out the two bags that came out of the boot of the old car. If I'm feeling very ambitious and the weather isn't good (I.e. no sun like today) I might start the horrible task of sorting out the millions of pairs of unloved and past their best shoes rammed in the bottom of the wardrobe.
Right better get in the shower.....0 -
Morning all! Stayed at OHs last night but was awake earlyish so got up to let him sleep.
Am going to pop to the Trafford Centre this morning to spend the Selfridges vouchers and then get my hair done. Should be finished by lunchtime. I ended up tidying the two car boot bags last night before going out so that's another job done. Will force myself to do a run too, even if it's just a short one.
Also need to do a bit of ironing and finish packing. Seen the reports of fires in Greece on the news this morning but I don't think it's anywhere near where we're going. Looks terrible - the poor people0 -
Morning MT - busy as ever....Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Busy morning - went for a run and sweated absolute buckets! It's soooo humid! It's actually chucking it down now - perhaps it will clear the air.
Then went to the Trafford Centre and bought some nice posh Mac makeup using the voucher - had to top up with £5 so not too bad. Wouldn't usually splash out that much on makeup but it was a gift and free!
Went to the Vodafone shop and sorted out the upgrade - amazingly, it costs £20 less a month and I now have a brand new iPhone 8 at no extra charge. Everything has been transferred to the new handset so I'm back up and running againjust shows what a rubbish deal I had before!
Then got my hair sorted so it's nice and root free for the holidays. £40 but budgeted for.
Just need to do a tiny bit of ironing and pack the rest of the stuff into the case. Am popping over to OHs this afternoon for an hour or two then it's a nice early night as we have to leave for the airport in the middle of the night.
Will pop back later.....0 -
All ready to go apart from one or two things to pop on the top of the case. Change of plan, OH is coming here so he can leave his car here whilst we're away - he's nervous of his car being broken into again and not being there. He can leave it on my driveway and my eagle eyed nosey neighbours are actually a brilliant deferent (fingers crossed)!
All checked in and boarding passes downloaded but have a couple of hours to remember forgotten items.
Just had a look at the price I could get for my old phone - Vodafone offered me £50 and the price online seems to be £105 but that doesn't take into account the cracked screen (which Vodafone know about). Think I'll take it back to the shop and get them to trade it in for credit on my account - that will be a free month of the contract. Will think about it over the holiday.0 -
Arrived safely in Greece - nice and warm and sunny so far.
Looking forward to a flop on a lounger after the ridiculously early start.....0
