A massive thunder storm last night - really dramatic and a real night time show. But thankfully, it cleared overnight and has been beautiful today. Spent the first half of the day on the private beach next to the sea lapping ( very relaxing) and from mid afternoon onwards by one of the pools on a super comfy sun longer with a mattress thicker than my own bed at home! A bit of people watching, reading and eating and the day was done
Think it’s a quiet evening of dinner and a bottle of wine and a fairly early night.
It’s a beautiful hotel in a lovely location - worth every hard earned penny.....0 -
It sounds really amazing MT - kind of wish I was there. Not giving up

Just sitting on the terrace outside the room waiting for OH to wake up. It!!!8217;s really lovely and quiet - just me and the birds. It!!!8217;s warm and sunny already, the sea looks calm and the beach is spotless. It!!!8217;s like a different world......
Had some good news yesterday - Dad had a suspicious lesion checked out at the dermatology clinic (he was seen within a week, probably because of his prostate cancer) and it turns out that it!!!8217;s nothing to worry about. A big relief! His other problem seems to be on the mend too so he!!!8217;s much more positive.
Going to read a magazine in the peace and quiet and just chill out - have a long day doing nothing much at all ahead0 -
Great news about your Dad, I know that you'll have been worrying about him whilst he waits for the results. It will be so much better for his recovery that he doesn't have it hanging over him too.
And I'm glad you're having a relaxing time - you totally deserve it.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Just popping in with a quick update - still lovely and sunny and warm. Busy doing not very much at all - have read two books (almost finished no 2), done a good length swim every day but no running whatsoever! It;s just too hot for that sort of sadomasochistic torture.
OH is behaving well even though he has a streaming cold (started on the plane) and we're happy in each other'scompany. Flying home on weds morning - it's gone too quickly......
Have been watching a series of clips on YouTube about managing the menopause- some quite useful advice - have written a mini shopping list of things to buy when I get home that supposedly help. We'll see....
Just checked the bank account - I get paid tomorrow- no surprises but it will be a welcome pay day this month!
Right, I'm off for a little paddle ......0 -
We're back!
Had a lovely time - beautiful hotel in a gorgeous private setting, lots of lovely food (too much!), and great weather. A really nice break from real life
I've unpacked and the first load of washing is in and had a bit of a tidy round. OH has gone home to do the same.
Positively, I've brought back 160 euros in cash and didn't use a bank card or credit card once so all well within budget. The euros will be put aside to go towards the Ibiza holiday at the end of August.
I got paid yesterday and have just spent half an hour sorting the finances - moving money around into various accounts, paying bills etc. it doesn't look too bad and I've given myself slightly bigger budgets for the three weeks that I'm home for as I'm not working and tend to spend a bit more.
So the budgets are...
£180 grocery shopping
£ 240 spending money
£100 petrol (need to take the dog to Wales for his second holiday)
£140 for vet and hair cut
I've paid the Next bill, credit card and council tax and put some money in the Xmas account, the house and garden account, holiday account and £250 in the contingency account.
So, in theory, I'm all organised! (And solvent)
I will need to buy a new suit or two and some new shoes for work but that can either come out of the contingency fund or out of August's salary at the end of the month.
Mum and sister are bringing the dog home to me on Friday and staying for the weekend - a trade off for me not having to go to get him
I need to do a big grocery shop - there's literally nothing in - but think I'll do it tomorrow rather than tonight so things are fresher for when they arrive. I'm also going on a three week hardcore diet before the next holiday so need to think about a shopping list this evening.0 -
